Tuesday, September 21, 2010 Razor: Jaggerooney Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Cream: Proraso A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Proraso Balm A super refreshing, BBS shave this morning. The Proraso cream/balm combo was just the ticket for this warm and rather humid last day of summer here in the Chicago area.

Tuesday Morning: Soap: Conk Bay Rum Brush: Shea Moisture badger Razor: No Name Solingen 5/8 Post: Witch Hazel, CVS Old Spice I think I'm getting the hang of stropping. This was my best straight shave so far and I think the improved stropping may have something to do with that. Then again it could be that I was using a recently honed blade and hopefully my technique is improving. Maybe all of the above.

Tuesday Took a rare day off from shaving. My face has become a bit irritated. I`ve been using the RazoRock for the past three days and wondering if that`s the problem. I`ve only used it once or twice a week in the past. Witch hazel tomorrow.

The great scent of the soap and the delightful menthol M-Bomb kick, couldn't make up for not using the ISZ Pre-Shave and the use of too old of a blade, resulting in too many leftover whiskers. I'll call this 3 blades.

Wednesday September 22 EJ DE86 7 O’Clock Super Platinum (Black) (6) Vulfix 2235 S Arko/TSD Sandalwood Hybrid Dominica Bay Rum Lime 4.6 on 3+ passes. Decent shave, but time to change out the blade. This blade (7-blacks) is the best of my sampler, giving the best-most shaves in a forgiving manner (2nd only to my Gem). It's only drawback is its price. It costs more than 3x what IP Reds or Dorco 301's run (comparing bulk buys), yet only gives 2x the # of shaves per blade. If I did not have so many blades left in my sampler to use up, I might be tempted to bite the bullet and stock up on these.
