Sunday, O.M.G. Musgo Cream Tweezerman Brush Schick type O injector Schick Injector II twin blade (1) Although I was excited to get one of these razors, my expectations for the actual shave were relatively low. As it turned out, this was a wonderfully close and easy shave. This "blade" scale some of you guys use, 5 is supposed to be the top, right? Call this 4.9 only because I don't believe in perfect scores. I do have to wonder, though, how much of the result is due to the unique twin injector blade, not a cartridge, but two blades stacked on top of each other with a thin spacer. I only have the two of these. The razor will also take the regular single injector blades, but will it work as well with those? Time will tell. I'll do a mini-review of the razor after I have longer experience with it.

SOTD Sunday October 10, 2010 Razor: 5/8 Torrey, Full Hollow, Round Point Coffee: Steve's Home Roasted Tanzanian - Latte' Pre-Shave: Proraso Crema Pre Barba Shave Soap/Mug: Mitchell's Wool Fat Scuttle: RAB Ceramic Brush: Semogue Boar 1460 ASB: Nivea Replenishing Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk Results: Very Good. However, I will probably take the little Torrey back to the 8K and finish again on the C12K. It's just not quite there yet. This was an E-Bay find and needed some pretty heavy clean-up and resetting the bevel. I was in a hurry and probably shorted the process. The edge is good but "no cigar" so to speak! :sad024
Sunday: Brush: Vulfix 247 Pure Badger Cream: Kiss My Face Peaches & Cream Razor: Rotbart/Gillette NEW Blade: Personna (day2) Post: Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Ice Sport I am completely sold on these KMF creams. They are the easiest lathering cream that I have tried so far. And what a lather it is! I found out that my wife got them at a Borders bookstore, not Trader Joe's. Next time I'm in Visalia, I'll be stopping by to see if I can find more scents.
For Sunday, it was blade, razor change day. I have been using the 1912 Gem for the last couple days. While showering the Parker Brush was on deck in warm water, my mug had some Omega shaving creme warming in the sink. Pre-shave prep Johnson Baby Oil, on one half, the other an experimental oil. I loaded a Gillette Slim Adjustable with a Derby Blade. Parker brush whipped up some great lather. First pass was set on #7, the second and touch ups was on #5. End result a BBS. I own both a Fat Boy and the Slim Adjustable. In my opinion I think the Slim has an edge over the Fat Boy for a great shave
It is a PITY I could not shave today... Happy Sunday From Florida! Since I hung around all day waiting on FedEx to bring the Tabac yesterday, I ended up shaving at 20:30 or so. Since my shave was so late in the day, there is not a lot to shave today, but I found myself in the den whipping up MWF and lamenting the fact that while I could shave, it could mean not having anything to shave off come Monday morning. Then it hit me. I have two gnarly hairy armpits I could shave.... Hot Shower Old Spice Mug Omega Boar 10015 MWF Schick Stick Pella Blade (5) I forget how many passes = Dang Fine PITY Shave! Here is the proof, they are still gnarly, but they are hair-free:
From my experience of "long way around" heart surgery a few years ago, you may regret that unless you plan to keep it up.
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 Razor: Merkur Long Handled Classic (23C) Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L Soap: Erasmic A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Alt Innsbruck Erasmic soap is not in my regular rotation, but is on the reserve team. I don't know why it doesn't see regular play--maybe it's because of the scent. It's not bad, just not a favorite of mine. However, I decided to send Erasmic into the game today. The Colonel whipped up a nice, creamy lather and the shave was DFS (almost BBS) and free of irritation. I must use this soap more often! The Alt Innsbruck provided a great finish with a nice menthol chill (and a refined and pleasant scent).

Sunday, October 10, 2010 Razor: D.R. Harris 3-piece "Chatsworth" Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Semogue 2000 (Thank you Teiste) Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat A/S: T & H 1805 I had been in a recent MWF slump so Teiste suggested that I use a Semogue boar brush to whip the fat into shape. He was so confident that he PIFed me a Semogue 2000. Well...it worked! Despite not yet being broken in, I used the Semogue 2000 boar brush to create a nice rich and creamy lather from my MWF. I enjoyed an excellent shave and the T & H 1805 was a fine finish.
Sunday Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower Coffee: Home roasted Tanzania, BLACK Cream: KMF Cool Mint Brush: The Dridecker Razor: Schick Injector E Model Blade: ???, day 2, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, Humphreys Maravilla Lotion + 2 drops M Bomb, ice water splash, Curve 'Stache Wax: Steve's Own Shave Rating: 4 Blades This would have easily been 5 blades had it not been for the lack of scent and cooling effect of the KMF. I like to smell the soap, that's why I have so many different types. The lather was simply amazing, just not enough scent or menthol. The final results were darn near BBS, but... If scents aren't that important to you, KMF is an outstanding cream to be had locally and at a reasonable price.
