I'll extend this offer on a day by day basis. I'll check back at Noon every day for a while. If there is one qualified taker, he gets it. If more than one, then I'll pick one at random (using random.org). Markymark is probably right, that most people come here after they've already bought their first DE, but we do get a few who still haven't made the move. I just made a similar PIF on B&B with a Weishi razor. You qualify if . . . You don't have a working DE razor. It's okay if you already have an SE, injector or straight, and already have a brush. You have a shipping address in the continental US (nothing against our friends from other countries, seriously. Just making things easier on myself.) At least five posts, no more than 30. You haven't gotten another PIF from me, here or on another forum. Enter by posting in this thread, if you're interested. What do you get? Just some inexpensive basics. • Lord L122 Tech razor (used) This is an inexpensive three piece razor that you could buy for around $6-$8 new. I used it for the life of one blade and cleaned it off. Although cheaply made, these are good shavers, and a good razor to start with. I just have way more razors than I need, and this is one that I don't really want for the "collection". • Tweezerman badger brush. Unused in package. This cheap brush is one of my favorites. I'd actually bought a couple as spares, but I've decided to PIF them instead, as the original is holding out really well. I have read that the QC on these is a little inconsistent, but most people who use them seem to like them. • Col. Conk's Lime shaving soap, one puck. Unused, of course. A decent glycerin shaving soap. Nothing fancy. • Blade sampler. One pack each of the following DE blades. Blue Bird, Derby, Personna Platinum, Gillette Super Thin, Sharp. Blades are the source of much disagreement, which is why it's usually recommended to start with a sampler. You should find at least one kind that you like among these.
nice I'm new to DE shaving, and am really impressed by the community y'all have developed. Unfortunately, I'm not elligible for this PIF, having picked up my first DE safety today, a Feather Portable, but good luck to those out there who are still holding out on selecting their first razor.
Welcome! I think you'll like that Feather. Hopefully someone will take me up on this PIF, lots of views but no interest so far.
I am in the same boat as thirteenofclubs. I have a DE Gilette tech. That is cool that all the DE vets start these PIF for noobies.
Any takers? Apparently this wasn't a big hit. I'll extend the offer on the original terms for one more day, until noon EST on Monday the 15th. If still no takers, I'll reevaluate to see if I need to make the terms less restrictive. I do want to help out someone who's just starting out with DE shaving, and this seems like it would be a good starter kit.
I think it was a big hit.. But you figure, we're all here cuz we own a single or DE razor.. I got my first last fri. AND some of us are from Canada... I don't need a new razor or blades, but your Tweezerman badger brush looks good...
Nothing against our friends across the border, seriously.:happy005 For the future, I'll look into the costs of international shipping, but for this PIF, I think I'll keep it US only.
This still up for grabs? I just joined yesterday and posted about wanting to get into wet shaving. I've been going around the forums looking at resources and guides and came across this.
