Being an old man, I guess that's why I like Clubman -- it smells just like the barbershops I went to as a youngster.

blanka I will not eat my shaving products. Promise.

I tried Clubman a while back. Agree on the powdery/floral scent. I liked it, but my wife nearly killed me. She made me get rid of it. :ashamed001

Definitely very old-school barbershop as are most of the Pinaud scents. Nothing wrong with that though!

It is a classic aftershave I will never be without. It is similiar to Brut, to me.

I love powdery scents, like Aqua Di Parma Colonia...even soapy...Is the vanilla version as powdery as the original, and does the flowery part still come through....I think I would really love this...I probably dug it as a kid at the barber shop, but I haven't tried it in my adult years...

+1 on the Vanilla. Nice and light-unlike many other Clubman scents. The Bay Rum is a legitimate BR any BR lover should have around IMHO. The original Clubman scent at first did not appeal much to me, however it grew on me, and SWIMBO loves it.

My wife is trying, but I sneek it in here and there.

I love the Clubman Musk so I went out and bought some Clubman original today. Also snuck a bottle of Aqua Velva Musk in the cart when SWMBO wasn't looking. I am really enjoying the old school aftershave splashes lately.

I have about 25 or so aftershaves/colognes. Clubman is the last I'll reach for. I've had the same bottle for I don't know how long. I keep trying to like it.

That was exactly my reaction at first.
But so many recommend it that I decided to give it a shot. Glad I did, because it dries very, very nicely.
It's one of those scents that is very much shaped by the wearer's own body chemistry.

I keep reading posts and references to it and think "maybe this time" and I'm not giving it a chance. Just went to the shelf, opened it up for the 20th time,,and put it back on the shelf. The couple of times I did wear it, I couldn't wait for a shower. Yeah, sweet, flowery,,cloying gagging overpowering smell you can't get away from.
Guess I'm just not quite old enough for it to bring back fond memories from time gone by to put up with it regardless how it smells.
Then too, I like the smell of poured resins and fiberglass. Not because it's a great smell, only because it reminds me of MY youth and long summers of surfing and building surfboards. Here too it's not a smell I'd want to wear regardless of the fond memories.

If you truly like Clubman, go buy the 444 aftershave balm and mix the two...

Squirt a pea sized drop of 444 in your hand, then a splash of Clubman, mix the two in your palms and rub your face!

The product in return acts like a Clubman scented Skinfood that hydrates!

You get the alcohol tinge, the slight tingle and a hint of menthol, with a non greasy, non burned or dried out face, that's soft and hydrated and smoooooth.

444 also doesn't mess with the scent, you can't even tell after the menthol and cool calms down.

This sounds great. It made me search around for info on 444, it sound like something I'd really like for a lot of uses.

I like Clubman, but rarely use it day after day. However, I mixed a few splashed in with a bottle of Barbasol Pacific Rush, which is what I do use day after day. I like it. To me, the Clubman and Pacific Rush fragrance work well together. The Clubman gives it a longer lasting aroma, which I sometimes want.

+1 for Clubman. I'd like to try the Pinaud Vanilla, and I'd definitely like to get some 444. The only supplier I've seen so far is from Europe. Is there a good US source?

    Classic

Lol,same situation but I wised up and got rid of the wife a few years ago!:D

I just ordered a bottle as you can't find Clubman products in my area.
I recently did get lucky when I went to a barber shop I hadn't been to in years and they had a bottle of Clubman Pinaud Citrus Musk which I instantly bought---nice product and it got me back into the Pinaud line.
Classic "old school" not old man in my books, every man should have the classic Clubman in his arsenal.

Clubman original scent is definately a barbershop smell. I use it every couple of weeks because it is a scent that I love but could grow weary of wearing it alot. Anyways I prefer to use my EDTs for fragrance.
