Just finished a week of trying out cold water shaving, and I have to say, it's not for me. While the shaves went better than I expected, I didn't enjoy the "experience" as much as warm water shaving, and ended the week with three ingrown hairs. I rarely suffer from an ingrown hairs, and I never had this many at once since switching to traditional wetshaving.

My first go with the Doehler-Jarvis razor, and I think I had it set too aggressively as my face is feeling a little raw and I had a few weepers, so I'll close the gap up for my next shave.

Still, it was Menthol Monday, and I'm back to warm water, so I'll call it 4 blades.

Love this new razor and definitely love MWF. Yet another BBS shave from the combination. 2 passes on the dome and 3 on the face. A wonderful shave! Nice finish too, Bay Rum and Florida Water go really well together.

I love this Breeze Sensitive cream. The scent is plain, but the lather and performance is excellent. It contains camomile to give the skin a very calming and soothing feeling.

-I got my Merkur 38c about one year ago and have not used a cartridge since-until today. I thought I'd give it a try. It gave me a fine shave but the process was quite unsatisfying. I very quickly fell into bad habits-hacking like an axe is the only way to get a decent shave with that thing. My curiosity has been satisfied and I look forward to getting back to my DE/SE/Str8

Mach 3 update

8 hours have passed and my scruff is about what I've gotten used to for my
morning shave. I don't know how I spent so much money on such a mediocre product for so long.

 

It's sad to say but, we all were deceived by the advertisement hype of those carts. Looking back at those days now it's hard to believe that we accepted this mediocracy as normal. I don't think any of us will go back to those days Danny!
