Monday, January 3, 2011 Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Schick Plus Platinum Brush: Simpson Ehsan Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap/Cream: Prairie Creations Peppermint A/S: Mr. Taylor Splash It has been awhile since I have used the NOS Schick Plus Platinum blades so I forgot just how smooth they were. Wow...what a great shave! The Mr. Taylor Splash was the perfect finish.
Monday, January 03, 2011 Razor: Merkur 23C Blade: Treet Dura Sharp Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Cream: Cyril Salter Indian Sandalwood A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood Toner An excellent "sandalwoody" shave this morning. The Treet Dura Sharp continues to impress me--I think I'll have to order some to add to my stash of good blades. I'm not quite to the point of declaring "I don't need no steenkin' Iridiums," however. My face feels great--can hardly wait until the next shave!

Gillette Ball End Tech Feather Blade (2) Tabac Shave Cream Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm I haven't posted a whole lot since I started, but I had to share this. Truly the best shave and shave experience I've had yet! Thanks again for the board!

Hot Shower Gem Featherweight Semogue 2000 VDH Deluxe Witch Hazel/Corn Huskers Lotion Clubman AS Murray's Superior Pomade While I normally prefer razors with a bit more heft to them, this one did well on both dome and face. This is, without question the mildest single edge I own and is probably the poster child for beard reduction. I suspect a single pass shave with this thing would almost amount to barely shaving at all. However 3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG) and presto, you got yourself a fantastic shave. The soap and the finish items are all timeless classics and performed wonderfully, as always. Have a great day, folks!

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 (My first SoS post) Lukewarm shower with Pantene Pro V conditioner on face most of the time "Hot" towel with initial lather underneath (there was a problem in the building with hot water I guess) Proraso Pre-Post Cream, for the first two passes Col. Conk Shave Soap - Almond Generic pure badger brush, soaking during shower Merkur 23c Dorco ST300 Blade (3rd shave, arm stropped) Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel Neutrogena Triple Protect Face Lotion Remarks: It was the closest I've ever got to BBS, though I had to spill some blood to achieve that : ). I did a three pass; WTG, XTG and ATG and additional touch up passes which took so much time that they could be considered as an additional pass or two. I also decided not to use Dorco blades more than twice after this shave; it would've been BBS if I were to use a virgin blade I think.
