Hmm.. I guess the postcards were my idea so I'll get it started then (seeing as it's on its way to me! ). Being tourist central there are just a few to choose from up here. It does seem like it would be fun to see where the box has traveled over the course of a year.
If someone can't find a postcard will a picture of something important to their town (historical marker, important landmark, etc...) suffice?
I don't see why not. Might be good to write the city name and state on the back (or front) of the picture.
Huh... I know I thought that information out in my head. I guess my brain and hand are not communicating again. On the back maybe the person could put their TSD name, the date, the town, state, etc...
that's a good idea, I already know the place I'll use. We've got an old cement jailhouse from the turn of the century that I've always found fascinating.
Our only land mark is the local eating place (restaurant is too sophisticated)....the Squat and Gobble...really:happy097
LOL.. although it isn't local (I can probably get a local postcard), there is a restaurant & gas station north of Kokomo on 31 named "Eat Here and Get Gas"
And its OUTA here! The Box is on its way! I thought about doing the picture thing but I guess I was just lazy. Next time for sure. I enjoyed having the box and I have decided that I while I am looking around for shave gear for myself I will also keep an eye out for things that I can put in the box next time it comes around. IT ARRIVED! Got it yesterday at about 4pm. Man that thing was heavy! I took a quick glance through the box last night, there sure are a ton of starter sets in there! In order to fit my stuff in, I do need to remove some stuff, and wanted to check how everybody felt about it. I have a co-worker who would LOVE a PIF set to get him started on his addiction, I was planning on taking one basic razor (tech), 3 boxes of blades, and a boar brush for him, I'll give him some of my soap and A/S. I was planning on taking the hone, A Gem SE, a few packs of blades, bottle of Old Spice, and a couple soaps, unless I can't fit my stuff in.. I am giving: Full bottle of Skin Bracer Blue, New puck of Col. Conk's Lime, a small bag of menthol crystals, Tub (nearly full) of SCS Blue Line Menth soap, tub of SCS Coconut Cream soap, a few shave cream and aftershave samples, a sample bottle of Pinaud Lilac Vegetal (maybe it will smell good on someone. . . just not me :sick007), along with a couple jars of goodies for Jeff.. Does this sound fair?
It is the last stop. I will get it in the mail back to Jeff on Sunday or Monday. Mail to Florida from here likely will take 4-5 days, so should be there by Friday, or next Monday at the latest.
OK, I've just finished reading 8 pages of this thread and I've been as excited as the ones waiting on the box! Can't wait for Jeff to get the box back, so it can go out again....this time with me on the list! I'm going to start putting together something for the box so when it arrives I'll be ready! You guys ALL ROCK! This has got to be the best forum I've been a member to. I think I'm going to start something like this on the upholstery forum I moderate. Now, I just need to come up with some ideas for it too.
Ok, box is ready to go, a couple minor changes from the earlier plan. I left in the Old Spice (wife didn't care for it), and took the Jovan musk instead.
