My current estimate is that, without buying any more, I won't run out of all soaps and creams until 2023. I do plan to use all I've got, except that I might PIF an unopened puck of VdH here and there. Although there's no urge to buy any more right now, I doubt if I'll wait quite that long to buy something. What I've been thinking about, though, is what will get restocked when the time comes, what might or might not, and what won't. Things I'll definitely buy again: MWF soap Williams soap Proraso cream Well, that was a short list. Here are others, at least some of which I'll probably buy again. D.R. Harris Almond or Arlington soap Cyril Salter soap Arko stick KMF cream There are some others that I might or might not get, Valobra stick, Col. Conk's Almond, some others. Vintage Williams or Old Spice only if I find them really cheap. When the total stock gets low enough, we'll see. And I could make a list of stuff that I'd never buy again. Use it up because I don't like waste, sure, but after that forget about it. No need to turn this into an "I hate . . ." thread, though. One man's poison is another man's meat. What's on your keepers list?
Buy again: TSD SOTQ Subscription Anything else Jo makes Godrej Creams Tabac EJ Sea Buckthorn soap Queen Charlotte croap Speick cream TGQ - if Colleen ever re-opens her site (it has been a year?) While I have never had to buy them, if I had to buy them: Tet-A-Tet cream and balm Phyto Expert cream and balm On the do not buy again list: Conk soaps Williams MWF Master's soap
I really enjoy TOBS Avocado, Arko Stick, and the Speick Stick. When I run out of any of these, I will definitely replenish my stock. I already have back ups of Arko and Speick. I am not a fan of MWF, Palmolive Stick, and Valobra and don't think I will buy these again, but I can't be certain as my tastes seem to change over time. There are too many products out there to try, to spend the better part of a year using up something that I really don't like much.
Mama Bear's soaps--can't wait until fall to try Sue's holiday scents AV Musk aftershave TSD aftershave milks Bay Rum soap and aftershave. Those are items I plan to always have in my cabinet as long as they're available. I'm still getting to know the MWF I recently bought. Don't quite know what I think of it yet. I also have Tabac soap, which is great but the scent really isn't my favorite. I'm still exploring shave creams; as of now I've only tried Arko and T&H, and my face and my wallet both prefer the Arko. I have two tubes of CO Bigelow, but haven't used them yet, so I can't comment on their quality.
Mitchell's Wool Fat has turned into my favorite soap in a relatively short amount of time, in fact it beats my favorite creams too, so I always must have it. Williams is the other one that I won't do without, Tabac on the other hand I still don't know if I will replace it once it's gone, but I do love the scent.
Keep/buy again: -AoS Sandalwood -DR Harris Arlington -Irisch Moos -Tabac -MWF -SCS dagger Soap -Reserved*
Current Keep List of Soap: Valobra Stick Palmolive Stick C&E Sandalwood Trumpers Almond Tabac Mama Bears Mandarin Ice might actually make that list, of the new load of goods I got in I seem to be using Mandarin Ice and TOBS Almond cream. Tabac only took one wiff and a lather to hook me, I guess I'm one of the weird ones. Trumpers Almond just smells awesome to me, old timey and floral perfect for summer. Valobra leaves my skin feeling the best of anything I have used to date, granted its a little gritty on the face. Palmolive imo is the best all around stick there is. C&E Sandalwood is essentially identical in performance to Trumpers at half the price. I'm still on the fence about Harris soaps, yes they're good, but I dunno, if the Lavender didn't smell like my Trumpers Wild Fern, I probably wouldn't be using it.
Above all soaps: MWF Also keepers: TSD Shave Soap (scent may vary) Speick Shave Stick Will purchase again, but not concerned if I'm out of stock for a little while: Pre De Provence SS Creighton produced cream (TRSC or TOBS normally, maybe T&H at some point)
While purchases in the immediate future will likely focus experiencing different soaps, I expect to restock these: Tabac TSD (several scents) Renaissance Man Bay Rum Arko Stick
I've thought about this several times, taking the minimalist approach and slimming down my den. Problem is, it's so damn hard to choose! But here's what I'm thinking so far... Soaps: • MWF • Monsavon • Tabac • Arko • C&E • Williams Creams: • KMF • Proraso/Bigelow • Taylor's (any scent) • Bluebeards Revenge • Palmolive Naturally this is all subject to change... it's so hard to make up my mind!! Soaps and creams combined, I've easily over 100 different choices!!
great idea for a post! so. My keepers: 1. Williams. 2. Crabtree and Evelyn Shave Soap- whatever scent can be found. 3. ARKO menthol shave cream. My "I would buy if I could find for a decent price": 1. Colgate soap. 2. crabtree and evelyn sweet almond oil shaving cream.
buy again tabac shave stick and soap. spieck cream , cella (next time a kilo) , cr salter lime, mama bears lime rosemary ,geo trumper sandalwood, co bigelow never again ..... williams , col conk , arko ( hate the scents not the lather ),
Keepers TSD products Chelsea's soap garden spieck trumpers cream De verguld hand CO bigelo/poraso VDH Maybes Muhle ( good lather but scents are weak) Old spice ( not musk) Ogalalla soaps No's Havent really found anything yet in the soap/ creams yet that I absolutely will not do again except for scents.
Out of what I have tried I would buy again... MWF - all the way! This soap is amazing for me and the only one I want to use! Maybe... Mama Bears QED Gentleman's Quarter Tabac MWF is just the most user friendly soap I have come accross, and the most hydrating. I find it soothing (I think it is the lanolin), and the smell is devine!::angelic004
I have to go with the Mama Bear's Awakenings soap with the Proraso Cream. Although, with all of these nods towards MWF, I just had to buy some to see what the talk is all about. I should receive it in a few days.
You won't regret it getting the Fat. Just do yourself a favor and face lather it and don't try to lather in a bowl/scuttle, or you probably won't like it.
