Actually, I think Darwins were made of stainless steel. Cobalt steel is famous for its hardness and heat resistance (think drill bits used to drill stainless steel ). Sill, a hand made SS razor with a safety bar made in the 20s when the rest were brass rakes is still pretty impressive.

I had to do it fast this morning, but I'm as smooth as silk, with no irritation or razor burn. The Viking Sensitive cream from Russia is a great face-freezer.

Which Rapira are you using? I know of at least three varieties. So far I really like the Swedish steel blades. I haven't tried the Lux or stainless blades yet, although I just received 100 of the stainless.
