They aren't made anymore. You'll now find them at estate sales, rummage sales, ebay and antique stores/malls. Use the ones you have for special occasions like Father's Day.
Well to all those that wonder and to the rest of you who could care less, Here it is, the last day for the Zorrik blade trial. As stated elsewhere I usually change blades after the 4th day/shave. Today will be no different. Shave to day was every bit as close as day one and as close as I normally get. However the shave itself was uncomfortable, dragging and pulling, ect. If I hadn't been doing this trial I would have changed blades when I started today. So my final thoughts on the Zorrik blades are that they are a very good value for the small amount that they cost $ .06 per blade. For me they will be a blade I keep available in my assortment, probably not for everyone, but for me they shaved very well.
I was amazed that the Gillette Super Blue blade provided me with 6 very good shaves. Definitely a keeper.
Astra SP is my daily blade but I only use Feathers with my slant. I have tried a few other blades and didn't like any of them. I wanted to like Derby's, especially considering the price, but I didn't get a good shave with them.
With the Merkur 34C, my favorite blade is the Derby. With the Edwin Jagger DE89L, my favorite blade is the Star. With the Gillette Adjustable "Slim", my favorite blade is the Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum (Indian manufacture). One thing I have found is that a blade that works well in one razor won't necessarily work well in other razors.
Injector Blades: CVS/Personna Long's Drugs/Personna EMS/Personna Schick (Chinese) Vintage Injector Blades: Schick Platinum Plus Personna 74 DE Blades: Astra SP Perma-Sharp Super Rapira Super Stainless Wilkinson Sword
My Edwin Jagger just showed up, along with a sample pack I bought. Good god, there's a lot of blades in there I've never heard of. (Gillett Goal?!?)
Personal favorites are Crystals, Fred's Store brand Personna, Red Personna, Lord Platinum, and Shark Chromes.
So far I've only used Merkur & Wilkinson Sword. The Wilks have provided a smoother shave (less tugging) than the Merkur, but both overall worked well for me. I need a few more shaves on the Wilks to know for sure. I looh forward to trying the infinite blade/razor combinations as I continue this the rest of my life. I'm in no hurry here, just lovin' the DE TWS lifestyle. Sad so many other men are missing out on this luxury!
The Goals aren't half-bad, but the sample pack I got some goals in also included Shark super chromes, and as soon as I got to that, I ordered 50 of those... I didn't see any reason to go further... Personna lab blades for super-sharp, and Shark SC for super-comfortable.
so far 1.feathers 2.derby 3.7oclock yellow i tried the feathers for the first time yesterday. i got the best shave yet. we will see what happens today. i can manage 3 smooth shaves outta the derbys...the 4th shave is still smooth w/ just a bit of tugging...i get about the same out of the 7'oclocks...the shave just is not quite as close
