I enjoyed this shave so much--the Tet-a-tet stuff is fabulous. The cream and aftershave balsam feel so nice and cooling, and they really do great things for sensitive skin. ;) :D

    Razor: PILS
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
    Brush: Simfix Grisvenor LE
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Trumper Coconut Oil Soap
    A/S: Taylor Mr. Taylor

The PILS remains among my favorite razors but I am afraid that I have to get it plated...despite being stainless steel, it is starting to rust. Nonetheless, I enjoyed an excellent shave followed by an old favorite, Mr. Taylor splash.

Tuesday afternoon's shave was, shall we say, rough.

    Proraso Pre/post
Coates Tea Tree & Rosemary shave cream
Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger Brush
    Merkur Progress set on 3
    Kai razor blade
    Alum
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

This was my third shave with the Kai, and either the blade was bad or Kais are not for me. First, as funny as it sounds, the blade was sharp in a bad way. The corners of the tab tore me up something fierce, as I now have 3 scratches on the side of my throat. The shave itself has been sub-par. Tried setting the Progress to 2, 3, and 4, and they have been too mild (left a questionable SAS) or too aggressive (razor burn). I usually shave with Feather Hi-Stainless on 4, and don't have burn problems, so I don't think it was me.

I'm taking a couple of days off to recover, then will try another Kai to see if it was the blade or the brand.

Another great one. I'll give credit to the M Bomb for setting this one on the top shelf.

It seems that quantity transforms to quality finally... Second 'better-then-DFS' shave in a row! I wish it will be consistent and as pleasant as today!

    TSD preshave balm
    8/8 W&B restored by Glen
    Paddle strop
Muhle travel brush in best badger
Williams mug soap/ Gada Cool Mint SC superlather :anifrozen (Thanks, Jeff, for that SC freezer in a tube!)

I have to say, that mentholized stuff rocks in summertime!

    Have a nice shave!

Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (Russian Green)

    MYCarver Finest
    Speick Shave Cream

    Alum
    Boosted Superior 70 Bay Rum

Just received some of these Russian Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless blades from Bob today. During the shave, I didn't notice anything special, but the basin was full of hair and absolutely no irritation from the Alum. Not sure how long it will last, but my initial impression of these blades (aside from the glue spots) is very good. I'm definitely impressed and the first shave was awesome. The Greatness that is Speick performed as expected and a nice cool finish with the Boosted Superior 70. One of the more enjoyable shaves I've had in a while.

    Tuesday :
    ISZ Preshave Balm
    Merkur Long Progress wide open
    Voskhod Blade, day 4 maybe?
    The Plisson EW
TSD ISZ SS/C O Bigelow Super Lather
    Thayers Super Hazel
Aqua Velva Ice Blue extra Menth Head addition
Two pass great shave! Surprised at how well it went with the Progress at full open. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the Vorschlaghammer Slant for my upcoming birthday. For a quick shave, it was a blissful combination.

    Feather popular/Rapira Blade/Fullers synthetic brush/ Arko SC

    asostd.jpg
The feather popular seems to work better with a more forgiving blade. The Rapira delivered. A three pass DFS with out any irritation. The synthetic brush left a lot to be desired. I will re-knot it with a Turkish horsehair #6 and hopefully turn it into something special. All and all a good shave.
