I have a bunch of these in the 10 pack, white container and I have a difficult time getting them out of the container. Just pushing with my thumb won't work most of the time, I have to get something to use to pry them out. http://www.shaving.ie/products/Gillette-Bleue-Extra-10-Pack.html Has anyone seen and solved this problem ?
Mine came in a paper box so I cannot help you. It sounds to me like the blades are older and have stuck together though...
Never had this problem with them. To be honest, if they dont want to come out I would probably leave them in there. Do they look as if they have deteriorated?
I think Jeff's right. I bought a bunch of them. They are packed tightly to begin with, but when you get them out you will notice they have some kind of coating on them. I took a pair of tweezers and pushed the top one out in the direction of the arrow on the blade. After I got the first one out the rest came out easier. I think the coating must be some kind of rust perservative that hardens as it gets older. I set my second pack in the sun for a while and was able to push out the first one much easier. They shave well, it's just a pain getting them out. Probably why they now come packed in a paper box. Alan
I have just 1 pack and I did notice they are a bit hard to get out. I didn't have nearly the problems you are having. I actually really like them but, after reading this I might have to think about buying more. One question Hex, how long have you had the packs and where did you buy them?
Try putting the dispenser in a small container and pouring rubbing alcohol just to cover the dispenser. Let that sit for a few minutes, remove and allow to air dry. This should loosen whatever coating was added at the factory. Good luck and report back.
I've had them at least 4 months Yank, and I seem to remember getting them on sale, maybe on Ebay. I think I bought 150 of them. That's a great idea ateace. I just opened a new pack and though the top blade was movable, it was really sticky. I have the container soaking now. I tested them after about 5 minutes and that didn't seem to do much. I will let them soak longer. They're worth it though. I sold a bunch of Feathers and Irridium when I got these.
The alcohol soak worked, at least for removing the top blade. I soaked them for about an hour, and the blade slid right out.
I have a few of these and your absolutely right they are a bear to get out ! :mad:Why in the world would a company do this to a nice bunch of wet shavers ? At any rate I intend to try the alcohol bit and see if this just might be the cure. My fingers are crossed anyway.
I love these blades, and I had the same problem. That is until I noticed the arrows on the blades. For whatever reason, the blades are removed from alternating sides; one blade from the left, the next from the right and so on.
The rubbing alcohol soak works best for me. Use the 91% because it has less water content. I have actually rusted some blades by letting them soak in 70% rubbing alcohol for too long.
Correct. I use 99% if available for that reason. Blades come with a small amount of vegetable oil to keep the blade from seizing inside the dispenser when they are freshly made. The manufacturers expect a quick use of blades so no problems should occur. If they remain in the dispenser too long, then the oil ages and gums up. A high grade of rubbing alcohol breaks down the oil without rusting the blades.
