LOL. I marked other because I didn't see the slim adjustable listed, and that is my goto DE razor if I haven't got time for a straight shave. But most mornings I do have the time, so my favorite razor would truly be a Wostenholm Peerless.
Haven't posted in a while I can't stay away from Gillette Techs. I like all I have tried. I like the little travel one that I have for shaving the back of my neck. The one I have in gold are my favorite. Why, I don't know. I avoided the Tech for a long time, and regret that I did. It is a gentle not very agressive razor, but I can get it to go in the tight places near my nose that I can't reach with any other razor. I just like them. I will gladly care for any that are neglected and need attention. John
My favourites have to be: Futur 38C Slant. Mind you....when I go away weekends......I usually pack my Progress!
Interesting results so far. Never expected these sorts of results. Slant leads the pack, followed closely by the Super Speed and the HD.
I actually rotate and enjoy them all. Gillette- English Rocket English Red Tip Merkur- 38C Slant 1904
Current favorites: 1) Weishi Gunmetal 2) Weishi Gold polished 3) Weishi Chrome Satin finish 4) Weishi Chrome polished 5) Merkur Slant Gold finish
I want to like other razors so I can warrant buying more stuff but the Merkur Progress is all I want, need, and own. I might try the Slant again though... just because.
I wasn't sure I have sufficient experience in DE shaving to do that, but OK, let's give it a try: Look and feel: The Weishis have an excellent finish, beats any Merkur I saw (I own the Standard and the Slant). I think the razor is very well made and well balanced. Shave: A very forgiving razor. If I handled the Slant the way I handle my Weishis I had 911 on my speed dial! Still, it gets the job done. I get very good, virtually irritation free, more often than not BBS shaves with it. Nicks are very rare and more blade dependent. BTW, all my 4 Weishis, which I got from two different sources, are identical, except for the finish. There is zero variation in build and finish quality! Did I forget anything? Please feel free to ask!
Try the slant becuase its for more advanced users and will help improve your skills. Its defeinetly not an entry level blade.
Someone at another forum once told me that the reason that most of us get acquisition disorder is that we are out there looking for perfect, in my parlance I am looking for the promise land. Most people tend to find the perfect and stop buying, this individual says. There are four catagories of shaving: the brush, the razor, blade and after shave. I have the brush down, I am far from done with the blade, the razor - I have a fiarly good idea where the promise land is just need a little mroe tweeking to get there and the after shave - thought I knew where the promise land is but not so sure now.
I just bought two, new Merkur Slant razors and a modified Merkur Progress. I'll give the Slant another chance.
I don't know of ANYBODY that sees more action in the Razor-trading department than this guy. :rofl How many times is it on this go-round?
