Gillette Red Tip/Gillette Super Stainless blade/Burma Soap/Ever ready 150 with HH#6/Aqua Velva I have to work this am, so it's an early start for me. I haven't used my SS's in a while. The Shave offered up by the Red Tip made me remember why it's my favorite SS. Three gentle passes while I'm still half asleep leaving me almost BBS. The Aqua Velva was the perfect finish. A great Red, White and Blue shave for independence day. Gentlemen, Have a wonderful holiday.

Today's shave was so cold and nice--this Williams Menthol cream has such a delightful scent, with so much rich lather and a HELL of a cooling sensation, and the Barbon aftershave really puts a nice final freeze on the skin!

Here's my patriotic 4th of July shave setup. 1912 Gem Damaskeene, vintage Ever-Ready 100 brush and a Gem stainless blade, all produced by the AMERICAN Safety Razor company. And I tried to work in as many red, white and blue products as I could. Happy 4th of July!

Monday, July 4th 2011 Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simpson Douglas Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Cream: Trumper Coconut A/S: Trumper Extract of Limes Since I am on a bit of a shaving cream bender, I adopted a pot of Trumper Coconut cream. Wow...pure luxury. The Trumper creams have more of a whipped consistency than Harris or Taylor creams but still, a little bit goes a long way. I enjoyed another excellent shave and followed it with a splash of Trumper Limes. Very nice indeed!

SuperLove week: Day 1 annnnd menthol Monday '55 Bluetip Voshkod (?) boosted TRSC moisturizing SC :anifrozen:anifrozen EJ 25 mm silvertip Osage Rub :anifrozen:anifrozen followed with 4711 AS:anifrozen:anifrozen I think it is funny how almost everyone went with the red tip for day one and I went to the complete other end of the spectrum. You guys are smart is why! I had perhaps one of the worst shaves I've gotten in a while this morning. Hardly anywhere is 100% BBS and I had some trouble on my chin and mustache ATG. Still better than a cartridge shave but honestly, I though I was beyond the "better than a cartridge" stage in my shaving career. All said and done, I give it 2 out of 5 blades. The pic came out better than the shave
Happy Birthday USA From FLA! Hot Shower RAB Scuttle Green Ever Ready / Horse Re-Knot TSD Iced Watermelon Sorbet Soap Gillette President Topaz Blade (1) - Thanks Poppi! Cold Water Rag A.V. Ice Sport 5 Passes = CCS. Three days without shaving and I grab a SS to join SS Week...well not really a SS, but close enough... the good news is that the shave was not so close that I have to skip shaving tomorrow, so that is a good thing. The bad news is that I prolly will not continue with SS week; the shaves are just too mild. When I first started in our hobby, I was torn between choosing a TTO or a Three Piece. I went with the TTO, but as time has moved on, I deffo prefer a three piece. Have a great week Ya'll!
