Super Speed Week? What Super Speed Week? Back from ten days of travel, using the same stuff every day. Now I can get back into a rotation. Schick Type A magazine repeater. Personna 74 injector blade. Colgate Mug Soap. Omega Professional Boar. Schick got so much right with their very first razor. If only the loading mechanism weren't so finicky. The famous Personna 74 blades have been sort of "meh" for me so far. I've only used blades from this one pack, and maybe it's deteriorated in some way. Whatever the reason, the blades are no better than the modern Schicks, if that good, and don't seem to last any longer. I've got some more packs after this one, will have to see how they are. It's possible to get a bad lather with this Colgate soap, but if you get the amount of water right, it works as well as anything. Nothing against Super Speeds, I have several, and they're still all theoretically in the rotation. The injectors and SEs get more playing time, though.

Super speed love week...day 5 Friday's Shave The Black Tip Beauty: 1952 40's Style SS with Steel Handle. Rapira (Day2) Omega 10029 Arko Uberlather:Shave Stick/Adventure SC Arko Nem moisturizer/Arko Aqua AS Rebul Lavanda Cologne Guerlain Habit Rouge EdT Another perfect 2 pass with touch-up shave...Seems to be the combination for this set-up....Yesterday I checked at the 13th hour after the shave, and it was amazingly close... Thats my Arko Stick in the grey deoderant container...
TGIF! Hot Shower Green Marvy Mug Omega Pro Boar TOBS Avocado SC Lady Gillette Stars - PINK! Gillette 7 OC - Black (1) Warm Water Rinse Hyatt Portico Citrus and Lavender Body Lotion D&G Light Blue Smooth as silk .. too bad I have to cover up my legs with nylons. Fantastic shave either way! Have a great day everyone!
That whole "repeater" concept just blows my mind...Schick was so far ahead of his time...I'm suprised that style didn't prevail....Schick's thinking was so advanced and all his designs are still state of the art...I'm also suprised the Injector didn't win the razor wars...I don't get it...
I know what you mean. I always shave my legs then its on with the nylons. my shave was... a hot shower some hair conditioner with 3 drops menthol TRSC Menthol shaving cream Voskhod shave 5 nivia sensitive (with menthol crystals of course) Very chilly bike ride to work this morning.
Muhle R41 ToothComb Feather (2) Chubbz 2 (rubberset boar reknot) Arko Shave Stick Alum Boosted Superior 70 Bay Rum Nice initial outing with the new Muhle. It is a loud shaver and I would mark this one up as moderately aggressive. It falls somewhere between an Old Type and a slammed Futur. No bloodshed and very minimal irritation. I need to spend some more time with it, but it seems to be a real nice shaver.

Friday, July 8th 2011 Razor: iKon Modern Blade: Super Iridium Brush: H.L. Thater Stout 1 Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Cream: Taylor Lavender A/S: Aqua Vera Another great shave! The Aqua Vera (Swedish aftershave) sample from Freddy is an interesting scent. Very old school and familiar but I cannot put my finger in it.

Great razor.
Well if i dont shave my leg hair will poke through my nylons. Great shaves guys. I love reading these... except they always make me want to order some more soaps and creams.... and some very nice razors. However most razors i want are a tad on the $$ side of things.
Super Speed week: day 5 regular flare tip voshkod (?) vintage Ever Ready C40 (really good ol' brush) MWF almost too much menthol VIBR; freeze the burn :anifrozenanifrozen Ok, last day of Super Speed week for me. My blades are either unknown in count, needing to be changed, or I'm just ready to use my EJ 89L so bad I don't care anymore Not that the shaves are bad but I need to get a few nearly perfect shaves in before next week. Even though I need my 89 fix, I'm still getting a highly satisfactory shave, today was no exception: 3.5 out of 5 blades.
Shave Of The Day ~ July 7th Super Speed Week Hot Shower Omega 21047 Boar/Badger Mix Brush Connaught Luxury Shaving Cream ~ Oakmoss Scent NDC Gillette Super Speed Razor Gillette Permasharp Blade - Day 1 Homemade Skin Food Aqua Velva Original Sport Aftershave ~ :freezing The Personna blade bit the dust after its second shave, but the Super Speed still shined with the replacement Permasharp, making for an overall nice 4 blade shave. Shave Of The Day ~ July 8th Super Speed Week Hot Shower E.J. Badger Brush Gillette Menthol Shave Cream ~ :freezing :freezing NDC Gillette Super Speed Razor Gillette Permasharp Blade - Day 2 Homemade Skin Food TSD A/S Splash ~ 2X Iced Lime ~ :freezing :freezing :freezing Another fine shave today with the NDC Super Speed. The Gillette menthol cream is one I've been wanting to try for a while now so I was really looking forward to the shave, and while the lather it produced was very nice, I was a little let down by the scent. The scent very strongly reminded me of Godrej menthol mist, which has a synthetic note to it that I find unappealing, though like the menthol effect it isn't as strong as in the Godrej.

Super Speed Friday Prairie Creations soap, unscented Omega imitation badger brush 1956 SS Voshkod blade TSD aftershave milk, unscented Took my time, went against the grain, got a good shave. I have say honestly that I like my EJ DE89 better than the SS, better weight, better balance, smoother, more effective. But this has been a fun nostalgic week with my birthyear razor.
