    Sunday

Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower, soak brush
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Rwanda, BLACK
    Soap: Tabac
Brush: Ever Ready 200T with original knot
Razor #1: Ever Ready Shovel Head, 1 pass
Razor #2: Gem Jr with the big, fat, Bakelite handle, 2+ passes
Blade: Gem, day 2, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Dickenson's WH + 2 drops M Bomb, hand strop blade
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 4 Blades

Made the first pass with the shovel head. Should have known better - one of the front blade stops is broken off. There is an ever-so-slight ridge where it used to be and it held the blade fine last time I used it. Couldn't quite get it to work this time, though. A very rough first pass. It kept this shave from being an over-all 5.

Switched to the Gem Jr to finish up. Much, much smoother. This was heading for a 2-blade shave, but with the coffee, the Tabac, the M Bomb, and a razor that held the blade in the proper position, I'm very happy with 4 blades.

Sunday shave. Got some courage to finally try my 4/8 Rebell traded from Stefan (herzi). It was my first time when I grab a different straight razor, them my 8/8 W&B. I feel... strange, I have to say. W&B is twice as wide and triple as heavy. Besides, the edge seems to be more thin and delicate.

    TSD preshave balm
    4/8 Rebell
    Paddle strop
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Painted ceramic bowl
    Tabac SC
    Cold water rag
    Brisk splash

I was nicely surprised with DFS+ result from the first shave! Thank you VERY
MUCH, Stefan, this razor is a great shaver!

The end of a fine week of shaves with the NDC Super Speed, thanks Lloyd.

I've been wanting to try the Lea Menthol Cream for a long time now, and it didn't disappoint me one bit. :)

Nice and chilly, with a scent that is similar to the Lea Balm, and thankfully no artificial notes come to my nose like it did with the Gillette and Godrej menthol creams.

Gonna have to order me up some more. :D

Ok, I have to ask. What is NDC??

No Date Code - The first generation of Super Speeds carried no date code.

Thanks, Bill. Guess I was having a mind freeze moment. :o

No problem, and I better rephrase that before Jody comes in here and smacks me upside the head...

Not all first generation Super Speeds were NDC, those made from 1947ish - 1950ish were NDC, after that they carried a date code. Info here.

Yes, I knew that, but not the abbreviation. Abbreviation added to the list, btw.

JoAnna, you certainly don't need to apoligize for a "mind freeze" moment...With all the time you spend with menthol making your fabulous ISZ products and M-Bombs, I'm suprised you don't have mind frost-bite...
I'm sure a certain amount of collateral freeze damage must be expected....:happy102
But thats a small price to pay, when your work allows to be quite the menthol enabler for so many in "Need of the Freeze" Keep up your great work...:D
