Finally, it's getting a little more enjoyable to shave because I have a bit less pain in my left arm. I love the Proraso Wheat Germ cream so much - the lather builds in 1 second, and it leaves the skin feeling cool and great. The Alcolado Glacial felt like heaven! ;) :D

Try not soakign the badger. Just run it under warm water before shake and then take it to the MWF. I can do it with my silvertip, just needs a bit more work. Can also try adding water to the top of the puck before the shower.

    This morning I used

    hair conditioner pre shave
    Godrej regular
    Gillette New OC
    Voskhod (3)
TSD Milk mixed with Nivea cool kick plus some menthol (amazing stuff)

Pretty good shave. I am alternating using conditioner for a pre shave and not using any. So far it seems like it the blade glides better when i use the conditioner. Too early to tell if I will purchase some preshave or not.

    • Prep: TSD ISZ PreShave Balm, hot shower w/ cold finish, hand strop blade
    • Cream: C.O. Bigelow w/ 7 drops glycerin
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Fine Badger
    • Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf
    • Blade: Walgreen's Gem (3), 3 passes
    • Post: Ice cube rinse, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, Hand strop blade
    • Shave Rating: 5/5 Another excellent shave with the Clog Pruf

I wasn't able to leave the TSD ISZ PreShave Balm on as long this time. I basically got up, put the PSB on, then got in the shower. I still could tell an improvement in how easy the shave was compared to not using the PSB. The cold feeling on my face is just excellent and I love starting my day off this way. My neck is really starting to calm down and look great now that I'm stringing some consecutive irritation-free shaves together. I don't think it's looked this good since before I started "having" to shave!

Nice shave. I am thinking of trying some TSD ISZ PreShave balm. The hair conditioner works well but it isnt the real thing. Then also maybe mix up a little home made pre shave oil.

I find it makes the razor glide... It is wonderful. My routine is get in the shower. Get my face wet rub rub rub. Then add conditioner and rub rub rub some more. Then continue with rest of shower.

PS what is ice cube rinse? Just rub face with ice cube? I did that a couple times before i discovered DE shaving and had irritation and bumps.

    Gillette Guard (2)
    Thater Stout 2
    Palmolive stick
    Nivea Sensitive balm
    AVC Ice Blue
Avon Wild Country Cologne (old stock)

Guard test is over, and I think it's a great candidate for those with super sensitive skin, or ingrown/razor bump issues. You really have to go over and over to cause the slightest irritation with this razor, and to be honest it's in the same category as the bump fighter system. Personally I'll take the bump fighter system as it's a much better built razor, and from personal expierience the cart on those lasts for quite a while.

    Razor: Cooncat Bob TTO Razor
    Blade: Gillette Yellow
    Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Cream: Italian Palmolive with Menthol
    A/S: Alt Innsbruch

Wow...I am really glad that I decided to try the Italian Palmolive. It is my new warm weather favorite. While my skin is sensitive to many creams, this one works great for me. It has a decent dose of menthol although nothing over the top and I find the skin conditioning properties to be excellent. I ended up using too much cream and will reduce the amount by half next time. Live and learn! The Cooncat Bob TTO Razor with the Gillette Yellow did a fantastic job. The added weight of the cooncat handle is just what this mild TTO razor head needed and the shave quality reminds me a lot of my Wilkinson Sticky. Enjoyed an excellent shave followed by a refreshing splash of Alt Innsbruck. Very nice indeed!

Yes, my ice cube rinse is just taking a single ice cube and sliding it all over my face and neck. In the summer my cold water from the tap is not very cold (at least to me anyway, I love a frosty face) so this makes sure that my pores close. For me it really seems to calm down any irritation from too many passes or just a bad stroke that took skin along with the hair. Keep in mind I leave my AVC Ice Blue in the freezer until just before I use it too.
