I received my brush this Wednesday from The Superior Shave, but do to plumbing issues I haven't been able to use it till today after replacing a faulty faucet........ This particular brush has had my attention for some time, I'm glad I held out, Jarrod from The Superior Shave lowered his prices and for what its worth I didn't mind paying the extra $3 for it instead of using WCS's discount and a free soap. I don't think I have seen a more spectacular knot by Simpsons, this is exactly the shape I was looking for, and boy is the sucker dense as heck! I gave it the normal go of shampooing and a test lather, however during the process I lost upwards of 20 hairs and had me freaking out... I decided to give it a minute and let it soak again and did test lather 2, this time I only lost one hair, I'm hoping that the extreme density of this particular brush is the cause. Lathered like a champ, nice and thick C&E Sandalwood lather, as seen here no problems. Next to my other Simpsons, a Duke 2 in best badger, you can see the brush didn't bloom like crazy, which is a testament to the density of this particular brush. The only question I have is where do I go from here?! :happy102
I really don't know where you could go from here Aaron. There is always that super ridiculously huge display brush that someone posted a year or so back. That thing must've been a foot tall and 80mm across....
Well, Bob I guess I could try a Kent BK8 or even 12, but I'd rather much buy some more cologne, or soaps, where my den is lacking... SOTD for today, looking forward to shaving with it, first drive is going to be with Dale's R41.
Great looking brush Aaron. Ive been going back and forth debating a chubby 2. I have a feeling it will be too big for me as My Duke 3 I find border line big!
It was a great shave, best exfoliation I have felt out of a non 2 banded brush! Due to the density, it really doesn't feel all that big on the face, it splays but not overly, my M&F 27mm Blonde Badger and 26mm TGN Super feel bigger on my face.
Thater's do look pretty but I would probably go with white or the plexi, my only thing is the overly bulbous knot and it seems to be these are better setup for bowl lathering.
Well I have numerous small brushes that I like to use with sticks, the CH2 does everything, I'm just not sure whats next. :happy102
