No rain for three months. Then three months of rain in three days. Gotta love Mississippi....

We had the same... well not three months for like all of july. Then last night thunderstorms and the weather is calling for more all today. However it is clearing up right now.

Yup.. kind of the same here and in Wisconsin. I wouldn't say that there were 3 months of no rain, but a month maybe. Lots of flash flood warnings going off on the cell phone over the weekend.

believe me, I know....driving through that random jumble of crap they call I-10 through Jackson last night about 9ish was no fun when you can't see the stripes on the road. I'm just thankful there wasn't much traffic at the time, I probably would've pulled over for a while, might even have come looking for you.

That would be fun, knocking on random houses, when they answer the door say "Blaaaaadesssz!" until I find the one that gets the reference :D

Anyway, there was quite a bit of rain down in Mobile while we were there, several heavy spots around Gulf Port, a little shower around Hattiesburg, and a good waterin' in Jackson, a couple of showers in Louisiana, and then Texas...nuthin'.

I think I did hear that there was a little bit of rain around here last night, though, so that's good.

Didn't have any luck at the flea market yesterday, only saw a fat handled tech and a ball end tech. One megalodon tooth, but I couldn't afford it.

Had a good visit, still have a bruise on my hip from playing football...note to self: lose 100 lbs before trying that again - and no, I'm not talking about football in general, a but a particular split-second decision I made on a maneuver to get by the 3 defenders. It was successful, I got the touchdown, but momentum is a powerful thing.....

Went to the races Saturday night after the reunion. The featured race was a 100 lapper with the pro late model class, and a dang 13 year old won it! Beat the guy that usually wins there by half a straightaway, though that guy did have a low tire in the last 10 laps or so. But that's not why the kid won, it's just why he had such a large gap at the end, he flat out outdrove everyone else, even after getting run off the track in turn three with 16 laps to go and restarting 6th.
I took the kids to the garage after the race and they got his autograph, it may well be worth something in a few years.
    Kid's name is Kyle Benjamin.

Anyhoo, great to be home, sleep in my own bed, sit on my own toilet, and TAKE OFF THESE BLASTED PANTS!!!! :happy102

Can you believe in 2011 my city is voting today, and on this issue only, whether or not to allow the sale of alcohol and wine by the glass at restaurants in the city? They've been selling beer for several years already. Bars and liquor stores will still be banned. So my day is good so far. I went and voted for it. All the cities around us are getting our tax dollars from glass sales, might as well vote to keep it home. Plus I wouldn't mind a spicy bloody mary with my t-bone steak. :happy102

heh. I have come to believe that nothing ever really changes. It just gets rearranged and represented.

But spicy bloody marys are nice with a good steak. Been a long while since I had one...

Beer and liqour stores are banned? WHAAAT

Here everything is just taxed out the wazoo so the gov is making tons of money. I talked to the head marketer for clear spirits and such from the company that owns Smirnoff. He said Ontario is the 3rd or 4th highest taxed place in the world on alcohol.

The cheapest Beer you can get is 26.50 for a 24. Its crazy, I would almost rather have two cokes than a beer :(

Well, it was a good evening. After supper daughter and I went out to a county park with plenty of open space and launched some rockets. Then we packed up and went to a city park and played 9 holes of disc golf. Yes, it was a good evening.

Had a power outage, but back up.

Anyone here watch the 2007-2008 Merlin series? Watching it on Netflix streaming and I'm really impressed.

I started to watch it, but had to miss the 2nd and 3rd episode and never went back to watch it. May be worth checking out. That was the one with Sam Neil? Or was that some other Merlin series..?

Went and saw Green Lantern tonight.

Went in with low expectations... it was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I could have done without the swearing that was lightly peppered throughout.

Yeah, we're considered a "dry county" so for anything to be sold, it has to be voted on. And speaking of, the vote passed by 65% so soon enough, I'll be able to have that spicy bloody mary with my t-bone steak!

    This is me and Jim.

I swear, Basic Instructions has put cameras on me 24/7.

It even looks kind of like Jim.

Got up this morning, showered, shaved and went up stairs to get dressed.

That's when the back said, "Nope. Think again. You're not going to work today. Not only that, but I'll be around for a while just to cause you pain! :angry025"

So it's Advil and an ice pack every two hours for the day.
