Just found out I'll actually be in Kandahar, Afghanistan instead of Kabul. No difference to me really.

Enjoy Basic! You're about to embark on an incredible journey. My 12 years on active duty have been awesome so far. I've gotten to see and do some incredible things. Hopefully the next 8 are even better.

Hi Vez, all my service was many years ago and here in the US. Let me know if you want some Arko sticks, a SS or Tech. Give me an address and it will be sent. I put a lot of stuff in the Grab BAG that maynhave helped but more where that came from. Doug

Thanks for the offer Doug. I'm pretty well stocked. Right now it is just a matter of figuring out what to take. I want to take enough in case I can't find stuff over there, but I don't want to take too much, so I'm not bringing a lot back. Plus I gotta have a cool looking den over there right?

Served myself at south lebanon over a decade ago during 98-2001'
as a combat soldier in the israeli army- my suggestion is to take only a simple equipment with you - brush, a simple "DE or SE- dont take anything expensive
    TAKE CARE MAN!!!!!!!

He obviously hasn't been here very long ;)

Thanks for the advice, however there's no way I'd want to shave with a Mach3 (or any other razor with 3 or more blades) ever again. I've DEvolved beyond those to a much better shave. Combat zone or not, I'll still find a way to use my DE and SE razors.
