Man, great call...I've always loved Harold Land and especially Jack Sheldon. Hung out with him a few times over the years and he is a absolute great cat, I love him....a big influance. He told me one time that Carl Perkins' (piano on this album) family was rich and had a pad in Beverly Hills, I believe, where all the cats like Chet Baker and Jack used to hang. And then he told us some stories about those hangs, but none would be repeatable on a family site like this...LOL... Also its album covers like this that made me want to play Jazz, in the first place, Lol...) Also I see you dig Larry Coryell...He came into a club I was playing about 3 years ago and sat at the table closest to the bandstand and after each tune would talk to us and critique the performance. He said once, " God the trumpet player's got chops out the a--)...I guess thats a compliment...But he stayed all night and clapped alot and offered to take us out after the gig, but it was late and I had an early session the next day so I demured...Seemed like a really nice cat...
