1. I don't believe anyone could over rate their sharpness. Their effectiveness maybe, but not the sharpness. For some, they work well, for others not so much.

  2. No, I don't think they are over rated, just over hyped.

I prefer the med prep or labs over feather, because they more forgiving, and last many more shaves. They are nearly as sharp on the first shave, at least as sharp on the second, and considerably sharper after that... I don't think I have ever been able to use a feather for more than 3 shaves.
  3. My 2c worth... according to the hype they'll whip your head off as you slide them out of the pack. In my experience they're just another razor blade that doesn't suit my face. Yes I *can* use them, but based on the way they crash and burn after the second shave, part way through the third ... I'll use an alternative thanks.

  4. same here. although I was using a Feather Popular razor, which is an extremely lightweight, mild razor. I never nicked myself with any blade using that razor. I also never got a smooth shave.
  5. Hmmmm. Good point.
  6. I was using a weishi at the time... they're rather mild, but i've been able to use feather in my Gillette new type OC, an EdwinJeager, and my Gillette super adjustable.
The Autostrop blades do well for themselves too... if only i could figure out a better way to do my chin area, hehe
