I came to the party at 58, which proves you can still learn something new.

 

I started "vintage" shaving when it was "current" technology. Grew a beard which I had for 27 years...until it turned white. I used cartridges for about a year until I realized with a little effort I could still get DE & SE blades. At 51 I don't fit into any of the choices for this poll...

 

Originally in 1971 with a Schick injector when I was 15, I returned to the fold two years ago when I was 53.

 

My first shave with brush/soap was at 29, still using cartridges. I was 30 when I got my first straight razor.

 

Bought my first kit at 17 thereabouts but didn't know how to make lather and just used the DE with canned stuff. Went back and forth with the DE and the latest carts until I was 40, then found the forums and it took off from there. Even though as of now I'm not using a DE, I still use the brush and soap, and will probably try the DE again in a few months.

 

Last year in April at 39.

 

I USED MY first 3 piece Gillettte DE razor when i was 13 , It was my grand pa's , just wanted to use it and ONLY used DE's Since ( ok missed 5 years on one use type's ) but now use 4 different types of DE razors

 

I started at 26. It's been just over a year now.

 

I'm 57, and my first ever shave was at the age of 14 with a brush, DE, and a tube of shaving cream, although I don't remember the name of the cream, DE, or brush. Let's say I have always been a traditional wetshaver.

 

Nice... I started with a gillette disposable and some gillette foam. Pretty narsty stuff, but I just got some nivea foam that I might use sometime to just see if the foams have evolved at all.

 

I threw away a can of Barbasol Original foam 2 years ago. One of my salesmen gave it to me to use when I would go on the road, but I refuse to use junk like that.

 

Turning the big 50 in a couple of months... Aggghhh.. life is too short.
Started Classic Wet Shaving in 2010 at the age of 48.
However I have used a DE since I was about 22yrs

So you used caned goo and such with a DE? I find that a tad better but the soap/cream is what makes the most difference... for me at least

 

Yes I used the goo for years...usually Barbasol as it was the cheapest
Use strictly creams soaps and sticks now

 

Yeah, 31. Just this week as a matter of fact. Still not perfect, but it hurts less than anything else I've tried.

Er, Looking at my post, I didn't make myself clear. I apologize. What I meant to say is that I started DE shaving just this week. My birthday was in May. I do however appreciate the sentiment, and I always have pineapple upside-down cake on my birthday. So, you know......if you feel like baking.
