I have a dilema .... just walked into the bathroom to find my wife with Black Beauty Razor in her hand and shaving her legs with it !!! What is the protocol here ?????
You buy her a Lady Gillette so she can share your hobby with you. And in this way when you buy more goodies, there are for "both" of you, and she doesn't say as much. At least it worked out for me like that! Was she using canned goo or proper cream/soap?
To be fair she was attempting to do it properly - she had used the badger brush and my soap - but she did look like a rabbit caught in the headlights when I walked in lol - it is her birthday next week but I get the feeling if I suggest buying her a razor as a present I might have my bags packed for me
+1 to Brians Idea did the same for my wife and she never went back to a crap razor again.... and i get to buy more toys and product now.
I do believe you don't ask, you just buy it for her. AND a really nice gift besides. Funny how women don't seem to care for/want/enjoy the more practical gifts, such as toasters, blenders, mixers, nor razors...... Maybe it's just gifts that end in rrrr's? Perhaps someone should do a study?
Step 1: smile Step 2: check the lather - if it needs work, re-do it for her Step 3: offer to show her proper technique - you may find you "need" offer to do this long after she has the technique down Step 4: see above for getting her her own razor
Buy her a nice brush, razor, and soap/cream set of her own. Sounds to me like she'll enjoy sharing an interest/hobby with you.
Thanks for the tips guys I will let you know how it goes ..... alternatively I will send her to the salon for her birthday for a wax lol
haha. Well might send her for a wax if the shave doesnt turn out too well. the ideas above are great. I would say show her how to do it properly and you will be good to go. SMOOTH LEGS are always nice
Grant, why don't you follow the advice to buy her some nice equipment, then introduce her to this site. That way she will become assimilated and then resistance is futile. YOU WIN!
I tried to get my GF into wet shaving, I lathered her up and let her go to town, she tried it a few times on her own, just wasn't her gig though consider yourself lucky.....
If she only wants a new razor then could be the Parker 29L a good choice. Just the stars are missing I wouldn't offer such things as a birthday gift. Just place them in the shower and wait for her reaction. You can also choose a nice SC with a scent you never would use, like KMF peach to give her a better imagination that these things are for her.
Yeah, my wife wants nothing to do with this style of shaving either. Daughter just started shaving.. maybe she will be eventually won over. However, for now, she wants nothing to do with it either.
Consider yourself a very lucky man...in desperation, my wife asked to borrow one of my "old fashioned" razors the day of our son's HS graduation ceremony because she had run out of cartridges...now she has her own DE & a Ladies Schick injector... I'm a very lucky guy...
