The blade I was using started causing weepers

I got a couple weepers on the third shave with the blade I'm using (USA made grocery store generic). My beard is pretty tough I guess. Maybe I'm only looking at two shaves with this blade.

Do you think I should try the next one three times, just to make sure?

Some times there is a bum blade in a pack, and other times the blade is just not right for you to begin with. I would deffo toss any blade and grab a fresh one when it starts making the shave less enjoyable, even if it is in the middle of a shave.

You could also try Swarden / Steve's tried and true hand stropping after every shave routine and see if that helps the blade.

It was kind of weird. It didn't hurt and it wasn't uncomfortable, just drew a little blood. Still, I tossed the blade, will try the next one to three.

    Play it by ear.

You might have had a bad day. Everyone has them.

Yeah, I'm just trying to be careful and make sure I do things the right way because of bad experiences in the past. I could probably stand to shave twice a day the way my beard grows.

    It happens.

Without off days, you wouldn't be able to enjoy the fantastic ones.

So now I'm on my third blade of the USA made generics I have. What I'm noticing is that the first shave is a little rough, second shave is great, then I have to throw it out.......

I'm going to order the sampler now......

And a bag of cookies........

I was in Dollar General today as well, so I picked up some of the Korean made DE blades to try in the meantime.

They were most certainly listed in the sampler I bought.

Great. I have heard of only a few people who didn't like the Voshkods.

It is one of my favorite blades.

Yeah I just figure that One good shave, one bad shave, then toss is kind of a bad deal all around, especially since I have to go through the bad shave first.

The Korean made generics I bought at Dollar General worked wonders....at least on the first shave. However they were about twice the price as I only got 5 for 2 bucks instead of 10. We'll see how much I can shave with those now. I want my sampler to hurry up and get here!

Good luck with your sampler pack. Blades made a night and day difference for me.

Two good shaves with the Korean made Dollar General generics. Third shave I had little spots of blood all over my face that I didn't seem to even notice until I was done. Now I need to look into an Alum block I suppose.

Nick, look at this thread and look up Dorco in the blog. That is the same blade as the Korean made Dollar General generics.

Thanks, looks like we might have similar beard types if my results are similar. It didn't feel like it at first, but when I started sweating I found I had horrible razor burn.

It's surprising to me how much of a difference there is between blades.
