I happened to see catch this listing right after it opened the other day: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-GILLETTE-GOLDTONE-DOUBLE-EDGE-RAZOR-BENDS-OPEN-/220839357293?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336b0d2b6d. When it started there was a Buy It Now price of $45.00. I thought about hitting the buy button but I've never really wanted a Toggle. Anyway, after a few minutes someone put a bid on it. Look where it ended up.
Yes. Supply and demand. Someone demanded it to the tune of $178.07 plus $3.00 shipping. Don't forget the $3.00 shipping.
Toggles have always been the most coveted razors on the bay for some reason, followed by the Fatboy then the Red tip. At least from my observations.
What I don't get is why someone would start bidding when there was such a low buy it now price. Either they didn't know how buy it now works or they didn't know how much people pay for toggles.
It appears that neither the seller nor the original bidder knew what a toggle was. I bought my first nice Toggle with a bin price of $10. Len
