yeah... iTunes bites. iPad now bites as well. You can surf the web, but with no flash, that won't get far. OK, there is a lot you can do. However, a lot of the applications I would use for the classroom have an online flash version or an app. Fine, I will download the app version. Oops... You can't download any apps (even free ones) without going through iTunes. But then again, unless you have an apple credit account and sign your life to the apple legion, you can't even download a free app through iTunes. No thank you.
maybe we've had this conversation before. Lately I've been watching 70s- 80s italian horror. some of which are horrible knock offs of notable american films. I'm the same way, but for CDs and CD players.
I also like itunes because it sports bit-perfection playback... which means when i'm playing a FLAC file, itunes doesn't alter the bit-stream, which means itunes doesn't alter my music... which is important when one can buy a car for the price of the vacuum tubes on one's stereo ^_^ I still prefer to listen to music on Vinyl, but when i am using a digital transport, itunes really is the best.
children. are the bane of all vinyl enthusiasts. heck, they're the bane of enthusiasts period, unless you happen to be enthusiastic about poop, boogers, chaos and destruction.
the last two sound interesting ^_^ I have a CD player too... but the benefits of having CD's around don't outweigh the quality of a nice vinyl... so i'd rather lose the space vinyl takes up than increase my CD collection... I do run it through a tube preamp, but there's only so much help tubes can do to SolidState tech
Coincidentally, just read this article. It's that kind of jackassery that reinforces my resolve to never buy a product from Apple. It's not their products, the products are good to great. And even though I loathe itunes, if I got an ipad I'd use it. But the politics of their litigation department reminds me of 3 year olds on the playground. "Oh, your product looks just like mine". "Oh, your online store has a name similar to mine". "Oh, your product uses aluminum just like mine". "Oh, your product uses electricity just like mine". Sheesh, bunch of whiney babies
they sound interesting until its your living room. and its your favorite things. and the chaos and destruction revolves around boogers and poop. like Jack Handy once said, "it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. and then it's just a game." seriously, I love records, esp. the limited print runs where they marble the disc. if I had the money, the know how, and no kids, I'd love to take up collecting vinyl.
Huh... have I mentioned the difference in switching from the Braun burr grinder to the Hario Skelton mini-mill. I am not talking about grind quality or coffee quality at all. It used to be that my daughter with sensory issues would cringe and occasionally get upset when running the coffee grinder. However, now, she will rip the mini-mill from my hands and with complete glee grind the coffee for me. Go figure...
That is awesome. My daughter thinks the manual grinder is too much work. Thankfully she didn't mind the electric so long as she wasn't in the kitchen when it ran. As a side benefit, I do think the coffee is slightly better out of the manual grinder. That might just be that the electric was getting hot before it failed, but I'll never need to worry about it again.
I know it has been hot this week. But it was hot like this a lot over the summer. However, relative's cross country meet just got cancelled half way through the meet. 6 ambulances had already taken away participants/attendants and 5 more were on the way.
Started the day off planting a few Cacti, and a Sego Palm for our small apartment patio. We went to the farmer's market picked some fresh vegetables. I found a local vendor that was selling two varities of shave soap, one with peppermint one without. I choose the one with the peppermint, smells great. The soap is made with goats milk. Will trry it tomorrow. Someoine seen a rare bird for Arkansas, a Cassin's Kingbird. We went to go see if we could locate came up short Any day is great when you spend it with the one you love and your besat friend.
Found somebody streaming longhorn network online. So I get to watch the opening game after all! Also, earlier, we watched the episode of Doctor Who with Adipose. Cutest villain ever.
Can't imagine a villain going by adipose or adipose being cute. Guess I have watched to many forensics shows and CSI/Bones shows when I watched more TV. Upon googling it, I just don't get it. At least I now know what all those weird blobs that keep popping up on the net are.
