  3. Monday, September 5. Good Morning!

Have no idea why I'm up this early on a holiday, but I am. Nothing better to do this time of morning so might as well shave. That will sure wake you up.

And, I don't own an adjustable razor to show. I am a creature of habit, so what you see everyday is pretty much what I have.

    Morning Coffee: Hills Brothers
Prep: Hot shower, wash face with Musgo Glyce Lime then hot towel with Proraso Pre Shave Cream
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE87
    Blade: Feather
    Cream: Proraso
    Brush: D.R. Harris
Post: Cold water rinse followed by some Speick After Shave Lotion

    EJ DE87-Harris-Proraso foam.jpg

    Have a GREAT day.

Footnote: When you are retired, everyday is a holiday. So, I have absolutely no excuse for being
up at 4:30 in the morning other than old age is creeping in.
  4. Coffee: Carluccio's Napoli Espresso

Prep: The usual - Loreal Men Expert Cleansing Facewash/Hot Shower

    Razor: Merkur Futur (setting 4)
    Blade: Derby
    Cream: Geo. F. Trumpers Coconut
    Brush: Muhle Silvertip

Post: Cold rinse, Cucumber Toner, Issey Miyake Noir Absolut
  5. Today's shave:

    VieLong Finest
    Dr. Dittmar SS
Kai Captain Excelia with Kai mild.
    Myrsol blue AS

Very nice shave. The Dr. Dittmar soap really works great.
  6. For some reason, I couldn't find the thread and kept wondering why a May 11th thread kept showing up.... Its gonna be one of those weeks I guess. At least it started off with a great shave!

    Monday:
    Proraso
    Omega Lucretia Borgia
    Slim set at 5
    SuperMax Platinum (day 1)
alum, witch hazel, osage rub, TSD ISZ
  7. Monday, September 5

    Gem Push Button
    GEM (Pella Coated) (d1)
    Preshave Oil Blend
    Renaissance Man Bay Rum SS
    Vulfix 404 Grosvenor Badger/Boar
    Osage Rub
    Old Spice Pure Sport
  8. Monday, September 05, 2011

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: 1948-50 Gillette Superspeed (cased)*
    Blade: Super Iridium*
    Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE Two-Band*
    Soap: P.160 Tipo Morbido*
    A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    G.F. Trumper Marlborough Splash*

A very fine shave, using many excellent products that are no longer in production (the ones with asterisks).
  9. Menthol Monday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/Personna day 6
    Noxzema SC :love029::happy108::happy108::smiley freezing:
    Keri unscented moisturizer
    Pinaud Bay Rum AS :love029::love029::love029::love029:

I admit that today my shave was not the most mentholated, but it's because I was more interested in an "old-school" barbershop set-up from the 1950's or 60's. The Noxzema cream, which I love so much gave me the lather, scent, and still enough of a cooling effect that I like. The Pinaud Bay Rum is one of the few barbershop aftershaves which my wife likes! ;)

  10. It's Adjustable Week!

    Monday

Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower, hand strop blade
    Coffee: BJs Kenya AA, BLACK
Cream: Brut Classic + 3 drops M Bomb
    Brush: The Dridecker
Adjustable: Merkur Futur @ a tad over 2.5
    Blade: Dorco ST-301, day 1, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Brut ASB + 2 drops M Bomb, Brut cologne, Brut pit stick, hand strop blade

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

    So, I like Brut.
Fantastic shave today. I don't say it often, probably because my standards are high and it doesn't happen often, but this was a BBS shave. Simply FANTASTIC. The Brut was nice, too;)

  11. To start adjustable week I chose my father in law's 1960 Fat Boy set at 9 and loaded with a Treet Dura Sharp blade. First time use of the Dura Sharp blade and I'm very impressed with it.

Followed it up with a healthy splash of Aqua Velva.

  16. I think your Viking Sensitive cream is from Bulgaria, yes? I have the version from Russia, which is marvellous. (Lots of menthol) Here is a photo of it.

  18. Heyyyyyyyyy, you once sent to me a tube of the older Viking stuff. The Blue Ice cream in the tube wearing the denim shirt, with the matching aftershave balsam. That was from Bulgaria, and very good. I still say the Russian version is WUNDERBAR!
