Brush: Ever Ready 200T with original knot

Normally I leave the Slim locked at 6. Today I bumped it up a notch to 7, just to see.

Personna Magic Razor w/ Voskhod (1)
    Gillette Slim Adjustable w/ ??? (?)
    Omega 80056 Boar
    Arko Shave Stick
    Dickinson Witch Hazel
    Gillette CoolWage AS
    Trumpers Skin Food

A fresh blade in the Personna made a huge difference. A couple of weepers, but overall definitely the best and most complete shave I've had with this, the cleanup w/ the Slim was almost unnecessary. So much so in fact that I didn't even bother checking what blade was in it, just picked it up and was done in a few seconds. A tiny bit on the chin and about a square centimeter around the adam's apple. In short, I'm am very happy, and technically I did get to participate in adjustable week, even if just by a hair. So there.

    • Prep: Hot shower, California Baby face wash, hand strop blade
    • Lather: C.O. Bigelow
    • Brush: Frank Shaving Finest
    • Razor: Gem OCMM
    • Blade: Walgreen's Gem (1), 2 passes
    • Post: WH, Aqua-Velva Ice Blue, hand strop blade
Wonderful shave today. With the holiday I had almost a full 3 days worth of growth and the OCMM mowed it down effortlessly. DFS+ without even trying. What an enjoyable shave today. I hope all your shaves today were as good as mine!

Shave Of The Day ~ Sept 6th

    • Hot Towel Prep
    • TSD M~Bomb ~ :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    • Shea Moisture Shave Badger Brush
    • C.O. Bigelow Cream ~ :smiley freezing:
    • :Lord L6 Razor
    • Voskhod Blade ~ Day 2
    • Thayer's Witch Hazel/Osage Rub Blend
    • Aqua Velva Original Sport Aftershave ~ :smiley freezing:
After my first pass I had decided I wanted to go with a bigger menthol blast than the Bigelow cream was offering, and thought I'd try rubbing the M~Bomb directly on my face as kinda of a shave oil. :signs136:

WOOHOO! :happy036: Now that was cold! :Animatedfrozensmily:

Spent the next two passes and touch up looking through watering eyes, and enjoying every minute of it, the cold water splash at the end was almost too much.

    Monday:

I started a test on a Gillette Platinum blade, so as is my test regimen the first razor I loaded it into was a 40s Gold Tech, my mildest razor. I face lathered with VDH and a Rooney 3/1 Super Silvertip. A very nice shave, not quite a BBS, but it was good enough. The blade was good, but to make it a superior blade the shave in the Tech needs to be a BBS with my standard passes- this was just shy of one. I'll use this blade until it's spent, but in different razors.

    Today:

The blade went into (still blade testing) my Black Handle SS, face lathered with a mix of 1 puck of VDH and one puck of Williams, shredded and melted together into a soap container. Today it was my Semogue 1438 Boar that did the lathering. This was an easy BBS. Finished up with my homemade experimental menthol AS. Ahhh! 8 hours later my face is still moisturized.

The blade will go into my Slim tomorrow set to "9", and there I'll use it for 5 more shaves (7 total) or until it's spent. Not necessarily because it's adjustable week, it's my test regimen for blades I test.

I forgot about Adjustable Week. Perhaps tomorrow, I will breakout my 1960 Slim.

    Today's shave

    Frank Shaving Finest
    Logona Mann SC
KAI Captain Excelia folding with KAI mild
    Adventure ASG

The Logona Mann is a very underrated cream. It's made from natural ingredients and has a lemony scent. The lather is great and stable. You can have a look on her here http://www.logona.com/Mann/Mann_E/index.html
The Adventure ASG is a Bulgarian Gel. It's very comparable to the gellies from Aroma cosmetics like the Viking. So to say it's very nice.

    Gillette Slim (7), w/ Red IP (D2)
    Berkley 46, face lather
    Palmolive Menthol SC (Italian)
    Alcoloda Glacial splash

Three passes with one touch up for a DFS. I really like that palmolive menthol SC. It has a kind of minty scent along with some nice cooling. Good skincare.

    Futur @ 3
    Voskhod (4)
    Cold Water Rag
    Poraso Cream A/S

    3 Passes = DFS!

Normally, I slam all of my adjustable razors wide open, and I have done so with the Futur as well. I have found that the Futur delivers great shaves no matter what the setting, but I have decided on 3 for now.

    Have a great day Ya'!!
