Took a chance and ordered this: GB Kent Shaving Cream Mint 125 ml pot, Dr. Harris Marlborough Sandel 150 g pot, Fitjar Neroli Orange 200 ml pot, Fitjar Folgefonn Mint 200 ml pot Anyone know how good the GB Kent Mint and Fitjar Neroli & Folgefonn creams are ? I gave my Bluebeard Revenge cream, my Speick cream, my Proraso cream and my Nivea cream away to my brother and father. So now I'm stuck with these 10 pots and 2 tubes of ShaveCream - I hope I'll survive Fitjar Neroli Orange 200 ml Fitjar Folgefonn Mint 200 ml Penhaligon Blenheims Bouquet 150 ml Penhaligon Endymion 150 ml Castle Forbes Lime 200 ml Castle Forbes Lavender 200 ml Dr. Harris Arlington 150 g Dr. Harris Marlborough 150 g Taylor Of Old Bond Street Jermyn St 150 g Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort 190 g Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood 190 g GB Kent Mint 125 ml I think this is it for me - until I find a good offer on Acqua Di Parma & Opus 1870 ShaveCream
My brother asked me to get him some Proraso ShaveCream next time I ordered. He also heard about Speick - for some odd reason I don't like my ShaveCream in tubes that don't keep the shape once you empty them - and I thought I won't need the Proraso now the winter is coming - so gave it away. My dad asked about the beard reduction properties in the Bluebeard cream. It's an awesome ShaveCream - but beard reduction only works if you use the cream every day for 3-6 weeks. With my growing collection I will never see the benefit of that, so just gave this awesome cream away I like the Penhaligon ShaveCream tubes, but don't fancy the tubes that look like old toothpaste tubes where you have to fold them to get the cream out. Weird - I know  Will purchase Proraso ShaveCream again next year when spring starts. It's cooling but not soothing and not a lot of moisture in it.
If you like Proraso but need more moisturizing try out Santa Maria Novella. It's very similar to Proraso but with lanolin added. It's pricey ($55) but the tub is big (250 ml or ~8.5 oz).
I have to say Kent is my favorite cream... except for the price... It is just that otherwise I would use it pretty much everyday... .
We all have our opinions and preferences, but IMHO your brother got the best deal. Next time you order the Proraso in the green tube or the green tub of shave soap, get a small jar of the green Proraso Pre Shave Cream. Just takes a little rubbed into a wet face before you apply the lather. Unlike some, I like it more in the winter than the summer. Nothing like a fresh shave with some menthol Proraso, then go outside and shovel snow in 10 degree weather. It will really wake you up.
you mean... "Kent is a very super duper nice cream" right? haha. I hope you enjoy your goodies and find some favorites.
Thanks, I'm sure I will. Just exchanged the Fitjar Neroli for the Fitjar Citrus Kick cream. I'm expecting A LOT from these Fitjar creams !!! Looking forward to trying the Kent Menthol also. Comes in a nice tub, if I don't fancy the Kent I'll get some Proraso or Musgo Real cream tube and squeeze it into this nice Kent tub, once the Kent cream has been used up.
I can understand the proraso.. but the Speick??? Lol.. I gave away my Speick cream too, but only after I got a stick of the soap
Its funny, I'm the other way around, I don't like the pots, and prefer the metal tubes. I like to squeeze some cream into my palm, load the brush and go straight to my face with it, instead of busting out the spoon lol.
I too like menthol in the cold weather Johnny, a 5 degree face on a 20 degree day is a beautiful thing Aaron, I like the tubes too, I find myself having to grab for (insert scooping implement here) and can"t stand it. Its easier (for me) to just squeeze a snurdle out into the bowl and start whippin'.
