These last 2 shaves have been wonderful - 3 passes with strongly-mentholated creams. The Bozzano Sensitive cream is a Brazilian beauty with a powerful cooling effect, as well as excellent lather. Guys, if you want to know about another face freezer, try Vifrex aftershave gel. :biggrin:

Comments: |I didn't think about a DE shave today, but finally I've chosen the Mühle R101, lighter than the R41, better to use a razor as this because the weight it's not an advantage for such as agressive head. Because the agresiveness and the aspect of the comb, that seems the teeth of a shark, I called it "Shark's Mouth". More "romantic" than call it R101. Supermentholated shave because of the Omega soap and the Osage Rub, the fresher shave in Spain ​

I don't understand what took so long, but I finally got the perfect angle with my valet. I have held it almost flat against my face many times before, always with unsatisfactory results. But this morning everything was as smooth as can be! It was a very good shave and a great way to start the day!

Surprisingly, the blade was an Israeli Red Personna. The new one I used this morning was fine.

I don't know why exactly but I can get a nice thick lather from the C&E but it's never very slick and I tend to get jitter from the razor for this reason.

Sounds like you need a bit more water. There's a fine line between thick/dry and thin/runny. More water will help give a bit of slide, but just be careful - too much and your lather gets thin and runny.

Thanks, Steve! I'll play around with that some and see what I come up with. I've had the C&E for about a year, but I really haven't used it much despite loving the scent as I do. This, Williams and Pre de Provence are my only "hard" soaps. PdP took me a bit to get the hang of, but once I got it down, it's been solid performer. Williams, well, Williams is Williams, but for some reason I find it slicker than the C&E even if the lather breaks on me ....perhaps it's the tallow, don't know. Best! Oh, and my coffee today was some locally roasted French roast brewed in a stainless mocha pot.

This stainless steel razor has been more of a challenge than most, to get as sharp as I like, but 70 laps on my new hone and its lovely.
A superb close, irritation free shave and another highly informative session with my unidentified olive green hone.

Actually I have tried roasting. My results varied some, but over all I enjoyed the results. The smoke in the kitchen was a bit much to handle though. I used a pot and a wooden spoon and stirred constantly. Perhaps a dedicated roaster would have been better in the smoke department. I will drop you a line should I convince my wife I should give it another go! Thanks!

I originally didn't plan on shaving today after the burn left by my last Personna DE Straight shave, but I got the Fatboy in the mail today and obviously had to try it out. And I can see all the fuss people make about this razor - it really is a nice piece. Even before you shave with it it's got a great feel, look, what have you. The balance is nice and it has good heft, grippy handle, all that stuff. The head geometry is nice too, sort of feels like shaving with an adjustable Aristocrat. It's a completely different feel from my normal Progress and I don't think it will replace it as my daily, but it's a very good razor nonetheless. Clean shave, 4/5
