The Progress is a great shaver. Once I had a Futur though, I traded my Progress to Olivier for his RAB scuttle that is now my RAB II. However, I am thinking about getting another Progress...
I enjoyed it. Not enough of a connoisseur to give you a full flavor profile, but we really enjoy all of the World Market coffees.

Now there's some Progress love! I'm thinking that if I do decide on a Progress, I'd like to have an adjustment knob like that. Love the chrome. Sweet pic, by the way.

Saturday, September 10, 2011 Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Derby Extra Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Soap or Cream: TOBS Sandalwood Cream A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns Splash A nice, DFS this morning. I used to think the Derby was just an "OK" blade, but the Futur brings out the best in any blade, I think, and this morning's result was almost BBS and quite smooth.

Sorry to double quote, but as this wasn't covered in the original (come on steve) - Where did you get that knob? Is it the short Mer knob? I'm only asking because it's the first one I've seen in a real picture, if that is it it looks much better than the pic on the website. Top Notch!
Saturday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 AM day 5 Chabrawichi 555 SC (from Egypt, like the cologne, and nice) Keri unscented moisturizer Chabrawichi 555 Cologne Very smooth shave, however this 7 AM blade seems to be losing more and more of the sharpness than the others in the pack. I will use it perhaps for 1 more shave tomorrow and then change it. The Chabrawichi cream and cologne both smell very nice and have a good refreshing effect. This stuff from Egypt is very old and well-known over there, and sells extremely cheap. You can buy a big bottle of the cologne spray for perhaps a dollar, and the creams costs 25 cents - I'm not joking!

Bigelow Shave Cream Nivea Post Shave Balm Well I dipped into the Bigelow a little hard, had a 4 pass shave but I probably had enough lather for another ten passes. Very nice thick cushy faces full of foam though. As for the shave itself, near BBS (including neck), by the longshot the closest shave I've had with this razor or any other. Minimal cleanup with the Progress set at 5. 4.89 blades
