Made Lather and lathered up, covered my face with a hot towel, and waited three minutes-was told my grandfather did this when he had time eBarbershop Almond Soap eBarber matching mug and badge brush-both cream EJagger DE 89 Hot towel start (see above), cold towel rinse EBC (ebarbershop) Almond BalmAqua Velva Ice Sport AS My fourth and best shave yet. Went wtg, xtg, and atg. While not perfect, there where plenty of BBS spots. This is gonna bee fun.
Scott, Try to shoot more for a good technique and focus on your passes. The BBS shaves will come. I have been shaving for 2 months with a straight razor, and still BBS hasn't fully come. Keep it up! If you stay with it for a month, you'll be hooked for sure!
Cream week continues... Cold water only Merkur23C/Red Personna#5 Vie-Long horsehair brush Godrej Fresh Lime SC Alum Mayor Energy Platinum splash Overslept and was in hurry. Almost BBS but some alum was needed. Washed it out with another cold water splash and put some Mayor Energy lotion. Love that lotion! Don't know why that Godrej cream don't want to work for me... At least I have a lot of better products.
Hot Shower Selsun Blue Medicated Menthol Hair Shampoo Mistral Sandalwood Bamboo Bar Soap TSD Pre-shave ISZ Mama Bears Iceberg Ice Gilette Fusion TSD Bay Rum ASM It was a cold, cold shave. I am getting addicted!
Definitely have a lot of technique work to do...was shocked to see a few accidental smooth spots. Already hooked, and loving it. I never really listened to the Sounds of Shaving.
Gem OCMM Gem Stainless PTFE Semogue 2000 MWF Alum Superior 70 Bay Rum Pretty craptacular shave this evening. Not sure if it was the blade getting tired, marginal lather, or the fact that I didn't shower prior to the shave. Regardless, it wasn't so good. Ended up with a few weepers and some irritation on the neck. You can't fully appreciate the good shaves without experiencing some bad ones... There is always tomorrow.
That's a great way to look at it. I hope it remains a rare bird and perpetual contrast to your more typical spectacular shaves.
Rooney Boar Brush Master Lilac Vegetol soap Gillette Bostonian Razor Polsilver Blade Masters Lilac Vegetol Splash -simple, great smelling, close and smooth.
Howdy, what are your thoughts on that Semogue? It's been on my "short list" for a while now. Slainte!
Please Danny, do tell me more. Did you make it or find it? I'm wearing Master's Lilac Veg right now, still smelling good from 5 a.m. and loving it. Never thought of adding the AS to VDH.....please tell me that's what you did!
I'm not sure how you got VDH from my post? I just used Master Mug Soap and Master Splash. Here's a link form Amazon to get the soap. Some people complain that it's thin runny lather. I love the stuff. Yep, it's a bit thin and sometimes I need to re-load for the 3d pass, but it's cheap and the scent really does it for me. Didn't you get one from my pif? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QTF5DW/?tag=thshde-20

That is an excellent strategy. I have found some blades that I absolutely could not use, but when I went found that they were fine. The problem was usually me.
Friday 16 September TSD Blue Juniper Stick Berkley 46, face lather Gillette Slim (7), with Lord Platinum (D4, last day for it) Alcolado Glacial-Proraso ASB Another nice 3 pass shave. Still need to do better on the jawline, but its getting better. A good start for the day.

Friday Prep: Hot shower Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK Soap: Dulouz home made Marakesh Brush: The Dridecker Razor: Thick handle Tech (long tooth open comb) Blade: Astra SP, day 5, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, L'Oreal Comfort Max ASB, SJ Unforgivable Shave Rating: 5 Blades Almost, ALMOST, the perfect shave. John's soap again performed above average (partial credit to the Dridecker, to take nothing away from John's soap, but a good brush helps), and the scent is fantastic. Finally got some coffee roasted - delicious! The razor/blade combo was super smooth and comfortable with darn near BBS results. My wife is loving the Sean John Unforgivable cologne. The high temp for today is supposed to be 67. And to top it all off - IT'S FRIDAY!
