Hey everyone.. fun Saturday. I decided after spending most of last week end grading and then working on school stuff until 10PM on Wednesday night to take this weekend mostly off. We went out to eat. We went to a craft store for some stuff. We went out for ice cream (PUMPKIN ice cream !!!! woo hoo).. We went to the lake and watched the waves roll in and some dudes trying to surf on Lake Michigan. Yes, it can be done. Went to German teachers place for an Oktoberfest... yup... relaxing day. Now, if my extremities could just warm up and get blood flowing again (currently in the 40's outside and we were outside for 5 straight hours)... I hear Sparty beat OU.. I need to look and see what else went on in college sports today...
That reminds me, I was in Big Lots yesterday and they had some "White Coffee" that was Pumpkin Spice flavored. I thought of you guys. The fact that it was labeled "White Coffee" made me think of that infernal song. For the record, I drink mine black.
fire in the hole? today sucks. I know it's the Lord's day and I am thankful for that. However, in the past four hours I have: 1. arrived at church to find that our irrigation system (we have a community garden as well as a system for fire safety) is hemorraging water. Water all over the parking lot and saturating the yard around the office. Got that taken care of before worship at 9. Then... 2. at 1145 I come back to the office and find that someone jimmied the door during worship and had a look around. Nothing taken that we can tell, but we're still filing an official police report, etc... Oh, and the doorknob is damaged now and won't latch. Thankfully, there's a bolt on the door (that wasn't locked during service) that still works that will keep the office secure until we get the door fixed. Monday came early this week.
I detest it when people violate Church buildings! I hope they catch who ever this is because they may come back after scouting the place out.
Another early Monday. First, going fishing with the daughter and B-I-L and forget my license and have to drive 30 min back home to get it. Then, I'm back home cleaning fish and slip and cut off a chunk of my fingernail on my left pointer finger. Just short of needing an urgent care visit. At least I got to see my daughter catch a couple fish, including the biggest of the day.
they might be scouting. this happened at this church approx. 3 years ago. Guys broke in, looked through, and then came back the next night and cleared out all the pcs. In any case, the way I see it is you have to be in a pretty bad place in your life to hit up a church. I hope the folks who did it get the help they need. eesh. thank goodness you didn't lose a part of your finger. We need to come together on this early Monday thing, and let Monday know he is not welcome. On PSPT or any other day of the week. Period.
Hope this following week is better than this weekend...well, actually, Saturday wasn't bad, today has really sucked. My DGAS has returned today (Don't Give A ....) @ Mike: that really sucks. We had a break-in at our church several weeks ago, took a couple of credit cards, van keys, and van. Found the van by following the credit charges. Crazy. @ Erik: careful with your fingers, dude, you'll never land that Subway Five Dollar Footlong commercial gig if you can't hold up five fingers
