If it's the shop I think it is, I tried 3 times to get a straight razor shave there, but for various reasons it never worked out. I've come to expect that it just isn't meant to be. Please let us know how it all works out.

There used to be a yarn store just around the corner from there that was pretty awesome, but sadly, it moved, and then closed this summer.

Just down the road a piece, across the bridge, in down-town van buren there's a couple of great used book stores. If you get a chance, you should check them out.

 

I found it about six months ago in search of a better hair cut. It is on the older side of Fort Smith just off Grand Ave., where Harps is at.
Van Buren has their fall festival this weekend.

In other news, I'm sure I'm not the first to read it or hear of it, but RIP Steve Jobs. I'm not a fan of his products, for various reasons, but I do know they were top notch in design and build, and those that are fans are rabid about them.
A truly genuine visionary. The tech world, even those that don't use Apple products, has lost a giant.
I can't help but wonder how Apple will do without him, they almost disappeared without him the last time. That won't happen now, since the Apple culture is much more pervasive now than the 0.00000373% it was last time, but it will certainly be different.

 

Going through the mail, and the cover of one of the "junk" catalogs (not that it's junk, but it's one of those with all the miscellaneous, but usually kinda neat, junk in it), caught my attention. At first I thought it was some kind of Angry Birds product, but instead it was actually M&Ms product.
That got me to thinking, there's an idea for an Angry Birds clone! Replace all the birds and pigs with Ms!

I accomplished a thing today! I'm kind of excited. It's the first time I've actually accomplished something in 2 weeks! Why if this keeps up, I might actually start appearing to be competent!

Saw that last night, kinda scared the SWMBO, freaked me a bit as well

 

Today was crazy busy at work for me, but the next few days are going to be far worse. I have a feeling that I will work about 15 hours tomorrow, then go into work Saturday morning and not leave until Sunday afternoon.

I have the pleasure of doing a server install and data migration. Put in close to 50 hours already and expect another 30 to 40 before the week is done...

I think my head might explode...

crap crap crap crap.

We had a piece of cardboard taped up next to the window unit in the front room and the cat worked it loose today. I just butted a fresh piece of cardboard up there without taping it in place and sometime in the last 3 hours she managed to get it loose, too.

Since 8:30 I've been jingling kitty toys and walking/driving around the neighborhood, trapsing in snakey grass and crawling around looking for her.

It's incredibly hard to find a black cat at night.

I'm hoping she's okay. I figure she's either found a cozy spot in one of the barns, or gotten away from the house and gotten scared and has hunkered down for the night. I'm praying that when daylight comes, she'll find her way home.

Either way, it's mostly my fault, and I'm just sick over it. I love that cat.

 

Sorry to hear about the escape. I am hoping that she is waiting outside when you get up or that you find her this morning.

Cats tend to be very independent minded and escaped cats will revel in new found freedom - until they get hungry. At least that's my experience, hope your experience matches it.
