First off, don't be put off by the person who commented that he thought the smell reminded them of Pinaud Clubman, this definitely doesn't smell like burning tires or fresh skunk spray. The scent is quite pleasant... Kind of what I remember the barber shop smelling like when my dad used to take me there for my hair cuts on Saturday mornings.

I think I paid $16 from a store in Madison Wisconsin for this, so I gave it an 8 for price. If you can find it for the $10 someone else mentioned, I'd give it a 9.5

I can't really say anything bad about this product at all. Personally I'm very partial to shave soaps (especially French soaps - even thought I wanted to hate them.)

I've tried creams from TOBS, Truefitt & Hill, Tabac, De Vergulde Hand, Cyril Salter, Speick, C&E, C.O. Bigelow, Acca Kappa, Trumper, AOS, L'Occitane and Musago Real.

I only *disliked* 3 of the creams (Acca Kappa - irritated my face, De Vergulde Hand - maybe the soap is better?, and C.O. bigelow - can't get past the scent, just turns my stomach in the mornings.)

Musago Real and the L'Occitane Cade are the only 2 creams that I will definitely always keep on hand.

I tried the Cade cream twice with disastrous results, but I love Musgo cream. That stuff is a definite keeper.

Musgo is definitely up there as a good cream, I got used to the scent, it reminded me of bug spray, now it kind of reminds me of Clubman's hair gel lol.

I tried the Musgo and it gave a great shave and I even liked the smell. But I had to stop using it because for some reason it irritated my face. Don't know what's in there that would cause that, but it did. I PIF'd it to another member.

Perhaps the lanolin caused the irritation?

You might be right as I am starting to have problems with my MWF, especially their bath soap.

Johnny, this is strange for me - MWF soap despite the good and rich lather, will destroy my skin, and we both know it is a lanolin-containing soap. Yet, the Musgo cream, which also contains lanolin feels very comfortable when I use it.

It may be the amount of lanolin or another product in the Mugso that helps to mitigate effect of the lanolin.

I love Musgo cream. The scent reminds me of the old Williams cream Dad used eons ago. It's available on the net for under $10 before shipping. I can't say how much lanolin MWF contains, but when I grated a puck and pressed it into a mug, I could see a clear liquid being pressed out. Was this the lanolin? I don't know, but even after washing, my hands were super smooth.

Wow, I never knew there was a Williams cream back then. I'm curious to know if it was anything like the Williams creams from Europe.

I think it stopped production in he late '70s. I don't know if there's a Euro equal.

I like Musgo. It performs very well, but I do experience irritation when I use it. As far as I know, I am not allergic to sheep (lanolin?) but I am allergic to grasses, and if I am not mistaken, Musgo has Vetiver in it, which is the main scent, and is a type of grass... which would explain the irritation...???

You know, that might just be the problem with me also. I know it's not the lanolin as MWF is loaded with lanolin and I use that 95% of the time.

I have a tube of Musgo, to me it smells great. Doesn't bother my skin but neither does MWF.

This statement should have said I am having problems ONLY with their bath soaps. The MWF shave soap is my all time favorite. I guess I'm just messed up from the neck down. :)
