Yo "T"....I dig the razors but those blades have got me "drooling" all over my keyboard...Thats some serious BLADE Porn...
For all you injector noobs....Tom's blades there are the "Creme de la Creme" of injector blades...I think most of us remember our 1st time with a "74"...just like you remember your 1st injector shave....And the "Plats" set the standard for like, ever....Sometimes I get a shave from the rebranded Personnas that reminds me of a Platinum Plus...quite often actually, lately...hope it keeps up...:)

I've got the "Personna Blade Injector" moves down...At first, pull the slider back...Then hold the injector in your right hand with thumb on top, pointer on bottom, (thus not allowing the top to separate)...Slide the key in and raise the back a hair or two til you find the correct angle so the slider will slide the new blade easily into you're razor...
Every razor has its angle and it doesn't change...Once you find it and practice a little changing blades slowly and carefully, (the same way you get to Carnegie Hall), muscle memory will take over and it will become as easy as the all-metal dispensers....When the angle's right, it slides as easy as the Schick blades, so never force it...Just gently move the dispenser up and down til you find the angle where it slides easy and gently...
Once you're in the groove, you can take the gloves off and "Rack-Em"!!

    Tom,
Do you mean you've had trouble with the Ted Pella dispensers? I think I've heard others say that.

The plastic dispensers can be a little ornery but I've found if you give it a slight twist while the key is in the razor, it'll load fine.

Yes. The white Personna dispenser that is sold by TP, EMS etc is junk. I've had a couple come apart and when I used the last one I had left from TP the piece that moves the blades would slide right over the top of the blade.

Other than the Chinese Schick and the Personna 20 blade dispenser, are there any other options for blades (other than vintage from the 'bay)?

I only have a few left and will be needing to invest in more, as the injector is starting to dominate the other razors in the battle of "Best Razor Challenge-Z"
(sorry, the Z is just there to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye)

Unfortunately when ASR/Personna went bankrupt and got bought by Energizer/Schick/WilkinsonSword last year, injector blades disappeared from the normal retail outlets. I've seen people say they still buy injector blades at CVS but not one of the CVS stores around me - 6 of them - carries any injector blades. Energizer/Schick/WilkinsonSword is obviously still making them for Ted Pella/EMS type outlets but it seems they've shut down selling them anywhere else.

My experience exactly with the Personna dispensers. However, we are fortunate in Oregon to have the Chinese Schicks at Bi-Mart (7 blade dispenser for $6.99).

If you have a few metal dispensers you can reload them with the Personnas blades...Who says we can't have our cake and eat it too...lol

Can you use the new Schick dispensers? Or can you only do it with a vintage one?

You can reload any of the injector dispensers. I've given away a couple empty Schick dispensers to guys that only had the crappy ASR's, but right now I don't have any extras. A lot of the cased Schick sets will have a blade dispenser with them, they work well if you don't want to keep it for a display.

They're out there for sure, it's just a matter of finding them. I found some in a drugstore today that I've never been in before, $5.69 for the 7 pack.

Thanks Tom! That's good to know. I'll have to keep my case around after I use up the blades.

Man wished I'd saved some of the "74" dispensers I've had...That would improve the shave just knowing the blades had come out of the "74" dispenser...LOL !!

No kidding though...I remember many years ago after my Dad had taught me to shave...We always thought if we ran out of Schick blades and ran out to the store and they were out and we had to buy Personnas; that was a drag...And we would usually cry about it if that ever happen...
THEN one day, a few years after I had moved out of the house and had been touring with bands...I was in town and dropped by Dad's for breakfast, and he said he had run out of blades the other day and tried to pick up some on his waqy home that night. The 7-11 was out of Schicks so he grabbed a pack of Personna's for convenience sake. And he said, "I don't know what happened but Personnas have sure improved a whole lot...I mean the blade I've been using this week is really special"....Later that day I picked up the new Personnas out of respect for my Dad's opinion...And he was right...They knocked me out...Little did we know we had accidently tried the later to be legendary "74's" To us at the time, it was just...Man Personnas sure have gotten good!! LOL

I picked up 4 of these Personna Platinum Chrome Injector Dispensers last week on eBay.
They're dated 1998. The blades are pretty darn good, but the plastic dispensers are lousy.

Great blades, typical POS Personna dispenser. Wonder if they used plastic instead of metal to keep the cost down a little. Even the Personna 74's are in plastic dispensers.

The 74s that I have are a metal case that is wrapped with a plastic sleeve with the Personna 74 markings. I removed the sleeve and low and behold a full metal container, at least enough to hold the complete injector loading mechanism.
