Here's an unusual design custom made TTO razor -- from the J. A. Cobb Company from London. And since my last name (hence the nickname/alias of Jake) is Jacobs, this company has a particular attraction for me. Nothing too memorable about the shave, but very cool to have a custom made TTO model. Looks to be totally mint too. Beautiful custom case too.
I'm liking that razor a bunch. Jeff definately give us a review on that soap, as it's not one that gets much chatter.
Well, all this talk about the Silicone Handled Razor made me go to Bestshave and get some goodies. $40 got me free shipping. However, the "NEROX" head will be replaced with a better one. The Lemon (Limon) Cologne is very nice smelling. The Yagli cream is great for dry skin and even as a uberlather generator along with soap or cream!
Sorry for the double post...the first was from my phone / Today I received my Interception shave soap. I am SOOO excited to try this one out! The scent is the manliest scent I have ever come across. I think JoAnna definately captured the essence of football in this one! GREAT JOB!! Secondly, right before dinner the doorbell rang and UPS was here delivering a Single Rikng I won on eBay! As we see the box got a bit destroyed...but it just came unglued at the joints...no pieces are actually broken! This razor is literally a dream come true! I have been trying to get one for a LONG time!! And now I have one! I am excited to shine this little guy up. But not only did I get the razor (1916) but the former owner was nice enough to answer my question as to the history of the razor! It belonged to his wife's great-grandpa who sounds like one of the most patriotic American I have heard of. He served in both world wars, in the Navy, lying about his age so he could serve in WWI. I will post more in a new thread I will be starting with the clean up pics. Needless to say (although I am Canadian) I am honored to have this razor! It was a good day!
I sense some baking soda, hot water and aluminum foil will be put to good use. BTW. Those are great razors. If you have never used one, you will be pleasantly surprised at what it can do with a modern blade! If you have, you know!
How right you are!! No this is my first OC razor. I used it this morning and loved it! (My wife was on the phone so I had the time to clean it up )
The mailman was good to me yesterday. I received two Pots of Tabula Rasa cream, a vintage bottle of Tai Winds aftershave (full) and a GIBBS "Click Pen" Adjustable razor.
I'm curious about this soap . I even searched for it on vacation overseas, Carrefour in France carries it so I thought other Carrefours in other countries might as well but no. Let us know your impressions, Bruce Everiss rated Monsavon highly.
I had a bowl of it awhile back. It is a fantastic soap, I believe it is lavender scented but it could be lilac, I am not sure. I gave it away though, I think I gave it to Dashmaverick... he was in need so I sent it off. It has been impossible to get it until now.
On the way home from work, I stopped off at this guy's store that I buy stuff from, and I found: 2x Denu sc tubes! The menthol freezing is so potent, it is unbelieveable!
Yesterday, a package from the folks at Straight Razor Designs, containing my new iKon S3S. It is true what they say, particulary at Christmas: Unpacking is the biggest fun! At least until the first shave....
