    Monday’ shave:

    Valobra Menthol shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr.2 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur 11C open comb
    Perma Sharp Super (new)
    Astra Superior Platinum (new)
    Speick Men After Shave Lotion

Started off the week as well as this shave with a new Perma Sharp loaded in my 11C. That turned out to be one of my not so good ideas, as the shave was so ….. good. Not.
After half a pass, during which the blade felt on the chin like a shave without shave soap and an overused disposable no-name blade, I decided to switch to an Asp, which comes after all out of the same factory, ZAO in St. Petersburg (Russia; not Florida)
Boy, what a difference. And I am so glad I made that switch. Had high hopes for the Perma Sharp but it didn’t deliver, at least not in this OC. Shame. But at least there are many more excellent blades out there…

    Monday:

    Expert Barber 400 6/8
    The Dridecker
    Derby Lemon Shave Cream
    Alum Block
    Witch Hazel
    Afta Fresh Balm
    Aspen edt

Have you ever bought something for cheap and not expecting much from the product you get blindsided by how well that product performed? Derby is that product for me, as I've read reviews before on this cream that didn't rate it to high, but for me there was the Arko stick like lather explosion and I couldn't ask for anything slicker. The smell was not like an Arko stick or a puck of Williams either as it was a nice life saver like lemon scent that lasted throughout the shave, bottom line I is like it and will have to explore the other varieties of this cream family. For less than $4.00 you can't loose giving it a whirl.:happy036:

    Monday

    Razor: Dovo Best Quality 6/8
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: Omega
    A/S: Aqua Velva

Very nice shave in what is becoming one of my typical Monday morning setups (the only thing that really changes is the razor).

    Razor: Gillette Norfolk
    Blade: Schick Plus Platinum
    Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Penhaligons Blenheim (Tallow Version)
    A/S: Avon Tai Winds

An excellent shave with vintage/discontinued items. The Gillette Norfolk sometimes seems a bit aggressive but the Schick Plus Platinum blade tames it very well and I enjoyed a very smooth BBS shave.

    Monday 28 November, Menthol Monday

Gem Micromatic SE (bullet tip I believe) w/ Gem SS blade (D1)
    Mama Bear's Lime Ice tub
    Berkley 46, face lather
    Alcolado Glacial and Proraso ASB

I had been holding off on the first use of this razor until I had a chance for a longer shave so I could really take my time and enjoy myself. I reviewed the SE post's and made sure to go slow and use absolutely no pressure. With a three passes, I got a very nice DFS+, not quite BBS, but close. The SE blades are very stiff, so I focused on no pressure and short strokes. The GEM blades were very sharp with no tugging, even with all that I got two very small weepers, in fact I didn't even know I had a weeper until I looked in the mirror. Just two small red dots. A very nice shave besides, I am very pleased with this purchase, and I'm glad I waited till I could take my time.

As always I love the lime ice soap, great smell with some menthol, for me its a can't miss. The alcolado glacial and proraso ASB are a great combo for me as well. Chilly and smooth.
