By the way, not to thread-jack, but did you get my PM? Did it go through?

It was about the A&F woods not showing up on the full sized cologne list on the TSD store... I was the full sized, but it won't show..

How would these soaps compare to something like a triple-milled French soap as far as moisturizing? It may be like comparing apples and oranges, but whatever you folks could tell me would be helpful. We're nearing the end of a bar of Pre de Provence and are on the looking for something new to try.

I got three peices from Rodd as a PIF. I will be using them tomorrow morning and possibly even this evening. I will let you know how I like the soaps. Thanks again Rodd

Rodd, how does this soap leave your skin feeling? Really moisturized without the dry feeling? I am looking to buy in bulk, and saw this thread here. How would you rate the actual soap right now?
    Thanks.

I wouldn't say there is no dryness, but I have been very happy with them. They compare very well with other cold process soaps I have tried, and the price is great. When I was using detergent bars (Dove, Irish Spring, etc) I had problems with dry skin, necessitating daily lotion use, especially in winter. That need has been eliminated, with the exception of my hands, when I started using better soaps. Have you tried other cold process soaps? May be worth trying some to see how they work for you before buying bulk.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I've ever had cold processed soap. I have had triple milled soap from Mistral. The soap is quite expensive, and...yes it was goood, BUT I don't think I'll buy it again. I think I can purchase better quality of soap for less dough.

I used to use Liquid Gels, but they really do more harm than good, so i switched last month to bar soaps. I really enjoy Irish Spring and Lever, both leaving me clean and comfy. I wouldn't say it dries my skin out too much, but it leaves a slight dry feeling. Just want that clean feeling, you know?

These soaps won't last nearly as long as a triple milled soap, but they are worth trying. I can't say I have ever used a triple milled bath soap, probably because of the cost.

I just came across this website explaining a few differences between milled and cold processed soap. Posting on the thread might help others who come along.

Wow...Just saw how much it costs and it blew me away...
    $2.25 a bar.........holy lanolin....

  12. Any updated reviews on this soap? I am thinking about getting a few bricks to cut up as stocking stuffers f Xmas.

I am still using it daily, and bought several bricks of the soap of the day a while back. My wife and I both like it. If there is a soap of the day that sounds good to you, I would go for it. They are $3 a brick, so even with shipping it is about a dollar a bar.
I am terrible at describing/reviewing things, but I do recommend trying it. I think it smells great, and performs well, and it keeps my skin from drying out. The only thing I would change is to make harder bars, maybe a little coconut or palm oil to harden it up? They just seem to go fairly quick.

  14. Thanks will try it out!

Do you find the olive oil based soaps leave a ring in the tub? We just tried a Kiss My Face and it gets the tub dirty. Leaves a film in the sink too.

We have hard water, so we have to scrub everything regularly to keep that from building up, so I haven't noticed. One exception was the Vanilla Oatmeal soap. The color was such dark brown color, that you could see where the drips ran down the wall of the shower.

Well, I'll stay away from that as I don't need One More Thing to do. Right now we're trying tea tree oil soaps for the bath and they're light colored. Makes the skin feel noticeably better too!
