    Razor: GIBBS Click Pen Adjustable
    Blade: Gillette Yellow
    Brush: Simpson Douglas
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Cream: Lavanda (new formula)
    A/S: Alt Innsbruck

Another excellent shave. I think the GIBBS razor has become my favorite...it always does an outstanding job. The Lavanda cream was a treat to use producing a dense lather that was both very slick and protective. A splash of Alt Innsbruck and I feel great!

    Saturday 17th:

    Hot Shower
    Kai Captain Excelia
    Semogue 1250 Brush
    Vitos Green Soap
Alum Block followed by Real Shaving ASB
    Fixegoiste Ice AS

Slept most of the day after a horrendous night. 15 hours on your own in a clinical environment is NOT good:(
The shower and shave were my tonic for the day. Two pass as usual for a DFS. Didnt want to push the boundaries ....just lots of feel good factor.

What do you get out of using the cold water rag compared to just splashing cold water on your face and neck? Just curious, thanks!

The rag soaks up the water... the water does not run out between my fingers... it is sort of a cup made from cloth...plus the rag assists with wiping off the soap residue.

Had a good shave today, I think I inadvertantly dulled my new/old straight blade from Larry at whippeddog with poor stropping technique so I took it to the balsa hone he provides with his kit for a very light touch-up, then stropped it more carefully. I had a fantastic shave on my cheeks, comfortably going ATG, but still have lots to learn about the neck and chin areas so my DE provided light touch-up.

Prep: hot shower, scrub face with daily wash
    Pre: AoS Sandalwood Pre-shave oil
    Lather: AoS Sandalwood cream
    Brush: AoS Fine Badger
Razor: Joseph Allen & Sons NON*XLL, followed by Parker 91R with Merkur for touchup
Post: Cold splash, Thayer Cucumber witch hazel
    Aftershave: AoS Sandalwood Balm

Result was DFS, not a single nick or weeper, but I did take some skin off my neck. It was feeling pretty burned immediately post-shave but feels fine now.

    Brush: Vie-Long Horse
    Soap/Creme: Arko
Razor: German Open comb travel razor (unbranded)
    Blade: Gillette Goal
    Pre: Shower
    Post: Witch Hazel
    Hair Groom: Gabel's Pomade
Result: The Arko and vie-long horse made a great lather together. it was especially rich and protective. it took a twinge longer than usual, but the results were first rate. the razor is based on the Gillette OLD (one of my favorite vintage razors), and was pretty good, but the razor was milder than the old. This yielded a less close shave and less beard reduction than an ols style, btu also a very gentle shave, a bit like a tech. I find the tech ( and, I think, this travel razor) too mild, but it may well be perfect for those who like extra mild razors, but dislike how they clog up. That isn't me, so if, after a blade change it still tests too mild ( which it probably the case), then I will probably give it to a friend who uses mild razors. Good shave day overall, though. I wanted a fairly gentle shave, and got one.

    DFS this morning!
Returned my dads superspeed to him and got my fatboy back. Just a completely different level of shaving with the fatboy. It's nice on sensitive parts of my neck I can dail it down on the aggresive level and just lightly buff.
The razorock, bowl and brush was nicely warmed soaking in the sink while I made my coffee.
It was kinda hard shaving this morning while my sons kitten attacked my feet tho. Those little kitty claws are SHARPER THAN ANY BLADE!!!!!

Prep: Marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower
CD: Ron Kenoly ~ God is Able
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK
Soap: Colgate's Barber Shaving Soap, first time using
    Brush: C&E Pure Badger
    SE: Gem Push Button
Blade: Gem, day 3, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Brut ASB, Brut cologne, hand strop blade

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

Super shave. The Colgate lathered up easily enough. Made for a great shave - close and comfortable. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that there is not much of a scent at all to the Colgate. This will be a good candidate for a few drops of cologne or Em's Woodstock EO in the lather bowl before whipping it up.

I'm seriously jealous! Gorgeous razor! What is that inlay made of?

Now I'm torn...I would love a Bismarck, but I can't afford both (one like this, and one of the ones with the pearloid inlay)..... :p

    Sunday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/7 AM day 2
    Musgo Real SC :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029:
    Keri unscented moisturizer
    Gillette Wild Rain AS

I bowl-lathered the Musgo cream and it gave its great, fragrant lather which helped to give me a very nice BBS shave. The 7 AM blades are very good - however, I sometimes get a little nervous when I work around the chin area. I apologize for not showing any pictures today. ;) :D
