Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Merkur Long Handled Progress
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Simpson Emperor 2 Two Band Super
Cream or Soap: Cyril Salter Hard Soap
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alt Innsbruck Splash

An excellent Sunday shave today. I decided to face lather this morning, something I seldom do. The Emperor did a nice job of that and the Progress/Astra combo effortlessly mowed off the stubble. A splash of Alt Innsbruck provided a very refreshing finish and I'm ready for the day.

    Sunday, December 18, 2011 - Today's the day!
    1. Prep: Hot shower; CB Super Sensitive facewash; hand strop blade
    2. Lather: MWF - face lather
    3. Brush: Simpsons Commodore X2
    4. Razor: Gem MMOC
    5. Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (2); 3 passes
    6. Post: Cold water rinse; Aqua Velva mixed w/ California Baby super sensitive face lotion
Call me a FatHead, FatFace, FatAddict I don't care. I love 'da Fat! I just hope it lathers this well when I get back home to my hard water. It leaves my face feeling better than anything else I've used so far. And the X2 really came into its own this morning. I did not detect any of the scritch that I felt from it's first use. It really is super soft at the tips (and I only presume will soften a bit more) while having great backbone, density, and flow through. I'm very impressed with my first Simpsons!

I'm not sure what part of the anatomy the "inlay" is-sorry. It's carbon steel and "ebony " scales. From the pic I thought I was going to
get plastic scales, but these are some kind of wood-which I prefer, pleasant surprise for me.

Another maintenance shave this morning as I was meeting my partners son/grandchildren for lunch. When I met her 4 years ago....I didn't realise it was a 'grab a granny night'!
It was a good shave this morning. Since I started with the Feather AC a month ago.......I have learned a lot about my face. My stubble grows in all directions...so even a 1 pass shave can be acceptable if I change the direction of the shave..My face is now mapped for the maximum effect!

    Razor: Gibbs Plus/Minus
    Blade: NOS Gibbs Preprietary Blade
    Brush: Rudy Bey Beehive
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Wilkinson Sword Shave Stick
    A/S: Klar Sandalwood aftershave

I purchased the Gibbs Plus/Minus razor from Harvey (aka Michael), a forum member and a great customer. Unlike my Gibbs Click Pen, this razor takes the Gibbs proprietary blade which Harvey was kind enough to include in abundance. The Plus/Minus razor has two different blade exposures -one more aggressive than the other. I used the Plus side for the first and last pass and the minus side for against the grain. I ended up with a BBS shave but did suffer a couple of weepers. I may need to adjust my technique slightly for this razor. A splash of Klar Sandalwood and I am ready to jump into the accounting work that I need to catch up on.

Prep - Hot Shower/hot towel compress
    Soap - Arko shave Stick
Brush - Big Red Omega 49 (thanks Dale - I love this brush!!)
blade - Astra green day 1
    razor - Merkur 45 Bakelite
    AS - Osage Rub

Over all it was a great shave. I have never used the Merkur 45 before but I have used a clix bakelite razor so I kinda new what to expect. While there was really no heft to the 45 I just adjusted my technique to make short strokes and did 3 passes WTG. XTG and ATG. I ended up with a DFS and it was very enjoyable. What can I say about the Osage Rub except for BRRRRRR!

    Thank you Secret Santa!!!!!

The inlay is the word "Solingen" and the designs on the scales. I was just wandering if you could tell what it was made out of.
