How they ended up there I'll never know, but today one of my usual haunts had two store-new cases of Palmolive Gold deo soap, 48 bars each, $10 a case...unbeatable price as near as I can tell (my wife handles soap-buying duties). My dad - who never asks - politely inquired what I planned for the second case (he wants it) so I'll be bringing it down to him in a couple months. Not a lifetime supply but several years worth, easy. Also found the 1969 S.S. in fantastic shape, same place. Don't need it but it looked so lonely in that bin of junk I just hadda grab it and give it a good home.
This is my new Becker Scuttle that Bob made for me and received on Monday night. The color that I wanted did not work out so he suggested this color and styly. My hands are a bit stiff these days and the handle with the top knob were made with that in mind. It is simply the best that I could have wished for and happy that the other color did not work out.
Very nice. He does good work and is very willing to give the customer whatever he or she wants if he can possibly do it. I really like the way this one turned out. Congrats!
Bob does nice work and that is a good looking scuttle. Did he ship it with the rubber plug? You will enjoy that for a long time.
Yes but I shaved a wine cork down and have been using that to go from the kitchen to the bath area. I ordered the cranberry at first but Robert had a problem with the color material and suggested this which is really nice.
Thanks, Jody, I have an antique from England but it does not hold the hot water as long and is for smaller knot brushes. So, I have not used it in over a year even though it is like a piece of art with a coal burning locomotive on the sides.
I saw your cork stopper in the SoS picture. Looks good and is probably to grab and remove that the little rubber plug. About a year ago I had Bob make me a cranberry scuttle, and truthfully, it looked terrible. I replaced it with a small sandstone version that now sets in the closet as a back-up to my large Dirty Bird.
Well fella the wifey let me open an early christmas present.....and low and behold I opened the all mighty EJ89DL .....pics comin soon!!! However the one I received has a bit of a cosmetic flaw...almost looks like a bubble in the chrome but it doesnt bother me......but will there be any long term effects from this? As long as it doesnt cause a problem with shaving in the future I dont mind any flaws at all...any advice is appreciated.
I'd be sure to return it once the holidays settled down - if there's a bubble in the plating. It'll start peeling eventually and as these are made out of what we call "pot metal", they aren't re-platable later on down the road if you wanted to do that. Wherever it was purchased, the vendor shouldn't have any problem replacing it. Even if you don't mind flaws, there shouldn't be any.
Well I just contacted amazon....hopefully they will let me exchange it....if not would anyone know where I could get a replacement head for the razor thats brand new? Is that even possible?
Amazon contacted me back...they are sending me the new one free of cost and they dont even want my old one....they want me to "dispose of it" how awesome is that!!!
With that spare EJ/Muhle handle, you should see if you can get one of the end pieces off and fill it with something heavy and then recap it......solve the "my R-41 is too light" problem. You'd be a hero if you figured out how to do a home conversion.
I will definitely see what I can do ! How are the caps connected? I dont wanna go in blind and make it useless lol ...but then again rereading my question im guessing if you knew you would know how to do it eh? lol I will try my best
