Wow, you guys are beast! I am awaiting a 10 pack of feathers to try. I just recently discharged a Merkur blade from duty after 4 shaves. And I have 5 Wilkinson blades to do my bidding for a while... So, what I will have on hand in a few days will be 15. I can't wait until I can afford a sample pack to find my right blade as you all have! Great motivation for us new beginners!

It really looks like you guys are preparing for the end of the world or something. I think I'm just jealous.:)

No, I'm just preparing for the day - inevitable, I believe - when the federal gov't decides to outlaw all but disposable cartridge razors "for the public's safety."

They can have my DE blades when they pry them, etc etc.

Seems pretty petty but I can't disagree with you Gorgo.....

Petty? Up until last week it was going to be illegal for you to buy (and in theory, USE in your own home) 100w lightbulbs. Why? "For your own good," is what the answer boiled down to. 75 watt would likely have been next. Toxic mercury bulbs are pushed on you instead. Why? Same reason: "For your own good." You're at least as old as I am so you know how long this list already has grown so I won't bore you, or risk mod censure, with more.

I didn't mean you were being petty, I meant it was a petty issue in general. Yeah, I should be able to buy and use what I want as long as I'm not hurting anyone. There are ISSUES they could worry about but they go after light bulbs and at some point rogue razor blades......and we pay these folks to do this to us.

I'm with gorgo on this one. We've already had the CPSC step in and make it hard as hell for us to buy saltpeter for making black powder and fireworks. Something they had NO legal authority to do.
I don't see it being too big a leap for them to ban SE, DE, Injector blades. After all, you could get cut by one if you aren't careful.
We have the best government money can buy.

The Clinton administration EPA banned Diazinon because it's poisonous. Of course it's poisonous, it's bug poison. Wikipedia claims it was banned for residential use in 2004, but that is incorrect.
I remember when the head of the EPA banned it in 2000.

I don't disagree Jaymo, I just think that there are better things to legislate. The whole issue is kinda stupid as far as regulation is concerned.

We better back off though because this is going down a bad road that we shouldn't follow for forums rules reasons.

Alright y'all, let's get this off of the political tone and back on topic...

I'm sporting about 1100 Voskhod DE blades, 100 misc. DE blades and about 50 injector blades. Not seen in the photos is 100 Feather DE blades that are in the mail system somewhere and 33 injector blades in the medicine cabinet.

I agree completely with you, battle munky. On both accounts.

Back to the topic at hand.

If I knew where the digi cam was, I'd drag out my stash and post pics. I have about 600 Derby DE, 100 Shark, 200 Ted Pela Gem SE, about 200 ASR injectors, and a whole bunch of other SE/DE/injector blades.

Y'all are making me feel bad. I need a nice wooden box for the storage of my blades. Maybe cedar.
I'm currently storing mine in Zerust bags.

Why, Jody, I'll go out on a limb and guess that you favor Russian steel.
I haven't had the pleasure of using Russian steel yet. US, Turkish, Egyptian, German, and Japanese, but not Russian yet.

My box is from an old N-frame Smith & Wesson that was sold off some years back.

I like most of the Russian blades, but they sure like to load them up with glue (wax?) spots.

Im still using the same box, but have many less blades then I did in the past. I have a couple hundred Voskhod, about the same SE Gem stainless ptfe, and about 100 mixed blades. I don't really feel the need to buy any more at this point.

In Russia, the wax and blade manufacturers must be aligned by marriages or something because they think that blades should be waxed like snow skis! :signs136:

Hey, if you smear the wax all over the blade, you won't have to rinse it off. ;)

Feather DEs look like they shot blobs of wax on the blades, using hot glue guns.
