    59’ E1 Fatboy (setting 7)
    Personna Lab Blue (d1)
TSD Acqua Di Gio Type S/S
    Vulfix 2235 Super
    Master Blue, Zegna Colonia

This was my first go with the Lab Blue blade. Seemed quite forgiving, and perhaps a little sharper than an IP Red. My neck got zero irritation. More tryouts to come. Stay tuned.

    Menthol Monday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/7 AM day 5
Williams Menthol SC :love029: :love029: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    Keri unscented moisturizer
Osage Rub AS :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

I made sure that for my 1st Menthol Monday Shave of 2012 I would have a frozen face - the Williams Menthol cream has a somewhat milder cooling effect than Palmolive Menthol during the 1st pass, but then when you re-lather, it itensifies very well. The Osage Rub is in a class by itself. ;) :D

    Hot Shower
    Green Marvy Mug
    Sabi Badger
TSD Yin Yang SS + 1/2 pump KMF
    Lord L6
    Gillette 7 OC - Black (2)
    Cool Water Rinse
Hyatt Portico Lavender & Citrus Body Lotion
    Lolita Lempicka Perfume

The Sabi was a good choice today. The scritchiness sure did scrub all of 2011 off my legs and let it go down the drain. Time for a new year!!

    Monday shave report:

    Feather AS-D1 with feather blade
    VDH soap
    Omega badger brush

DFS today Even with the VDH. I'm almost out of Razorock and the proraso seems to bother my skin in this cold weather. So I decided to use some VDH. Not a bad soap but it aint no Razorock!

    Monday "Mourning" Shave

    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky*
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Simspon Douglas*
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet (Tallow Version)*
    A/S: Vintage Yardley*

Now that the holidays are over I am back to my regular routine of using mainly discontinued (and missed) shaving items on Mondays -Something I dub the Monday "Mourning" Shave. Everything marked with an * is dearly departed.

I enjoyed an excellent shave followed by a refreshing splash of Yardley aftershave. I believe that the aftershave is from the 1960's and am amazed that it is still good.

    1. Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar; hand strop blade
    2. Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground something from my BIL w/ cream *Christmas Gift*
    3. Lather: L'Occitane Cade - face lather *Christmas Gift*
    4. Brush: Simpson's Commodore X2 *Christmas Gift*
    5. Razor: Gem MMOC
    6. Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (7); 3 passes
    7. Post: Cold water rinse; Osage Rub + Kiehl's Balm *Christmas Gift*
The Cade gave up a super slick and thick lather to the X2 this morning. With each use I'm liking the scent more and more. The Osage + Kiehl's gave a great freezing feeling along with some wonderful skin hydration.

    Slanty Shave 10

I know I said I was giving my face a rest but I wanted to see how gentle "Slanty" could be on 19 hours of stubble.

Instead of going for two passes, I went for three very easy ones. With "Slanty," if you hit your marks, no touch ups r necessary. Was today a BBS Hatrick and 4-5?

    EBC Pre Shave-a great pre-shave
    Vulfix 404 Mixed-today's featured item
Cella Soap-I have never made such beautiful lather
Gillette 7 o'clock Dark Blue (5)-with 4 of 5 shaves BBS, he retires to the bank
Merkur 37 C Slant-I have finely fully bonded with Slanty. A great razor. Not aggressive so much as efficient
    EBC Almond Shave Balm
Barber's Choice Menthol AS-because I lost track of the fact that today is Monday

The shave ended a beautiful BBS, and the blade retired after delivering one quality shave after another.

After two Gillette Dark Blues, I am going to put a Black on and see how it goes.

    Winter Classic Is Coming-Go Rangers!!!

Scott, what do you think of blade loading the slant so far? Easy to get used to? What method are you using? It's great you're enjoying the new razor!

    Monday Morning
    Prep - Nothing!
    Coffee - Folgers Regular (Black)
Music - Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K.216
Razor - Merkur 38C Barber Pole
    Blade - Feather (Stropped)
Soap - Proraso Aloe & Green Tea
Brush - EJ Pure Badger (Still breaking it in)
Post - Cold water rinse & Old Spice Pure Sport A/S

Beautiful Shave. Kept with the Proraso today just due to really loving that menthol feeling and wound up going with a hand lather just for something different. I'm going to definitely have to get more into it. Went back with the Merkur because I thought he might feel lonely, and he behaved very well with the new feather blade this morning, no nicks or weepers which I won't complain about for a 4 pass BBS! I also remembered this morning that my wife absolutely hates Mozart after I started playing it...WHOOPS! (Or was it a whoops...):signs136:

    Monday's Shower and Shave
A long hot shower to start the day off.
I choose the Omega Midget to face lather Lider.
Monday's razor a Gillette Black Handle SS, with a day three Eddison blade.
After three passes I did a warm water rinse, which was followed with a polar water splash. I patted dried my face, splashed on Thayer's Witch Hazel, after it dried I finished up with Kapo balm.
Today's shave was a five blade DFS.
