My Favorite? 1910 Gem Lather Catcher with a hand stropped fresh blade.

Just about any of my safety razors (they run the gamit of SE and DE) seem to do a very nice job though. I can and have used a straight on my nugget but safety razors just seem to be a bit better for the behind the back type of shaving. My current rotation has me using safety razors only on the 3 days a week I shave my spud (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday).

Before I started growing my hair back, I was using my '55 Red Tip and a Wally Wilky. Pure bliss and simplicity. In retrospect, I really wish I would have tried one of my SE razors; they seem perfect for it.

I use my Edwin Jagger DE89L with a feather blade.... I have tried a couple of different ones but the EJ is my go to.

This is the same for me. I have a head blade, extra cartridges, and I don't like it at all.

Merkur 37G Slant, Gem 1912, G type Injector, EJ DE87, Gillette 1969 Adjustable.
The slant is my favorite because it takes the hair off so quickly, and doesn't tug.
I shave my tater like I shave my face, WTG, XTG, & ATG. I have a LOT of hair, but it's fine as frog's hair. It wants to lay down when I shave it.
Cartridge blades clog up WAY too fast for me.
I'm not balding, far from it. I shave my head because I like looking like Uncle Fester.
I haven't shaved it in a month. I need to do so.

I use a hand held mirror to allow me to see the back of my head while I shave it.
The slant sounds like it would be dangerous to use, but if you're careful, it's great.

im a Headblader for life. been using it ever since they sponsered me back in my powerlifting days. I really like the new sport version with the rubberized finger holder.

1934 Aristocrat. I like the open comb because I usually only shave my head once a week.

Several years ago I came into a Fusion. It makes a great head razor. One of those hih dollar cartridges will last me for 90 days.

No nicks, never a cut, quick, thought-free.

Nothing fancy, the same Mach 3 turbo that I use on my face, which will probably become my dedicated "head razor" once I work up the confidence to go with a DE.

    Fatboy

I use my Gillette Fatboy with a Feather blade. Usually adjusted to a 6 on the first pass then a clean up on 4. Silky smooth!

Been sahving my head for 10 years now, to avoid the horseshoe. But mainly it was Fusion, with Goo, the just the fusion in the shower, tried an electric, for some reason dried my head all up.
Since Feb its been Merkur HD, Williams Mug, and Tweezerman. Going WTG I can cut it way way down, touch ups do take a while, every now and then I have the GF take care of the back, if I could get her out of the cart mentality of PUSH harder, I don't have to worry about burn.

The thought of shaving my head with with a DE made me nervous at first. When I finally bought a DE razor for my face, I got a Merkur HD (ie, 34C), and on the fifth use, I decided to try a Feather blade (for my face). When done with that, I was just in the mood to experiment further, so I went ahead and shaved my head with it. Turned out to be an awesomely close shave with only a couple of tiny nicks that healed with a touch of styptic. Since then, I hardly get a nick on my head no matter what blade I use, or razor, or WTG, XTG, or ATG. I now use an EJ DE89 most of the time, but that's because I have been using that more than my HD for my face shaves. I find that head shaves with DEs are a lot easier than face shaves. I can get a closer head shave with my DEs than with my Mach 3 or Sensor, and it's no more prone to nick at all. At this point I don't get too many nicks on my face & neck with my DEs, but that took a fair amount of practice over several months. As another poster mentioned, I think head shaves may be a bit more forgiving because the skin is tighter up there than down on your face & neck.

Usually it is a DE, Trac II, or Atra depending on the face razor.
DE for both head and face.
With Injectors on the face it will be a Trac II or Atra on the head depending on which one is loaded.

I use the best solution for me since I shave my head in the shower WITHOUT mirror.

Mühle Sophist Fusion Pro Glide and the best prime canned goo you can get : Sanex AloeVera Shaving Foam or Gel (both equally great)

I shave my head 2-3 times a week and have done so since 2006, where I started thinning at the front ;)

I started with a straight razor and it's not as hard as you think actually. I use whatever I don't use on my face during the rotation now. If I'm using the R41 I may use the Red Tip or adjustable Schick. I use the Fatboy turned all the way up to 9 sometimes and I have used the R41. I've never had a issue with my head shave with anything.

Been shaving my head for maybe 5 yrs. now....been using Fusion blades...tried many different ones in the past i.e.headblade , mach 3 and such.....Going to switch to Safety razors now....been doing reasearch online and fairly confident i'm making the rite decision. Cheaper and old school the way 4 me. Down to 3 fusion carts now and can't see ever paying that much for razors ever again.....sorry Gillette stock holders :p
