Hi all, This is my first post - I've been observing the forums from a distance for a while and am now throwing in my thoughts following a family discussion. My old man is insistent that Cusson's Imperial Leather smells weaker today than it used to before the 1990s. Does anyone have anything to offer on this or can I blame his theory on an aging sense of smell?
Thanks all - it's a UK soap been around for 80 years or so and is mostly used by the .. ahem.. 'older generation', as people seem to prefer liquid soaps these days. It's pretty much up there with Coal Tar Soap and Pear's as the quintessential british soaps, I'd say.
It's a nice, good smelling soap. Don't know the answer to the debate though. Welcome to The Shave Den!
Cusson's is just not widely available retail here in the states, it may be in Desi stores like other British classics but in general we don't see the product.
Sadly, I think a lot of products have been "quietly reformulated" to reduce costs or to overcome a shortage of a specific material. That may be the case in this incidence, but I have never used the product. Another item is in order. Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
I recently bought some Cossons Imperial Soup in the UK and brought it back to the USA with me. I used to use it many years ago and wanted to try it again. I tried it today and was a little disappointed, it didn't smell as good as I remember. Your dad was right. I'm a new member too and this is my first post.

Welcome to the Den, both of you. Sorry I can't help with the Cossons question, I've never heard of it before today. But here in this post: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/archive/index.php/t-235896.html One of the members claims that it was reformulated in 2010. I see no reason to doubt him. Reformulations are seldom better than the original.
