    Thursday 19 January

    Arko Stick
    Omega travel boar, face lather
Gillette Slim (5), with Rapira Platinum Lux (D4)
Alcolado Glacial with Nivea Sensitive Balm

I went with some of the guys after work and had a couple too many beers, so I woke up a bit late today. This was a two pass SAS shave. It was all the time I had for the morning. Not a bad shave for the restricted time. Those fat tires tasted good last night, but they are repeating on me now.

The coffee cup was to soak my brush, now I really need to get some coffee.
    Have a great day.

Nice Spyderco Jamie, I haven't seen one of those for a while. I had one with the dual straight and serrated edge, but I lost it years ago. :(

    Thursday

    Feather 1200
    Feather Blade
    The Colonel
    MWF
    Proraso White ASB

It was a decent shave this morning. I had a lot of faith in my hand to try out a new razor with a Feather, but the shave turned out pretty good! I cut close in a few spots and have a few pink areas, but that is just a result of lack on technique with the razor (and nothing the Proraso can't handle ;) ). I only did 2 passes but it resulted in a near BBS feel without going ATG. :)

I have been a knife collector for years Luke, a knife is Man's oldest and most useful tool, i would advise any man to go and buy himself a good folding knife, and after a month you will wonder how you ever managed without one.

    Regards Jamie.

uh-oh Johnny switched back to using soap? Does this mean the cream experimentation is over?

Not at all. It means it was -15 degrees F outside this morning with a 25 mph wind. I have to go out several times today and my face needs all the protection it can get.

In case I have never said this before on here, I HATE WINTER!

    1. Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
    2. Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground TN Blend w/ cream
    3. Lather: Speick cream - face lather
    4. Brush: Simpson's Commodore X2
    5. Razor: Merkur Classic (33C)
    6. Blade: Feather (2); 3 passes
    7. Post: Cold water rinse; Alum; Osage Rub; Kiehl's Balm
The Merkur Classic that I had all but ridden off as a horrible razor is now performing much better. The Feather blade has really teamed up well here and provided a very nice and enjoyable shave with excellent post-shave results.

Shave Rating - Splendid. God Bless!

Merkur 11 C Open Comb Shave Three
    Face Lather Day Four

Today I decided to try a few new products and take them for a spin, so I selected a new pre/post and a new soap. For the pre/post, I selected Vitos, which I had only used as a pre on Monday. And for my soap I tried my first Razorock, the Caprician Lemon.

Vitos pre/post-lots of menthol, performed well as a pre and a post
    Vulfix 404 Mixed
    Merkur 11 C Open Comb
    Gillette Dark Blue (3)
    Witch Hazel
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Shave three was another beauty. My first use of RazoRock was a pleasure, great glide and cushion...we will call it "Clyde." I enjoyed the scent, the latherability, and the way it made my face feel.

The Vitos was great and I will use this product over my next few shaves to get better acquainted. Nice as a pre, soothing as a post.

I can't say enough about the 11 C. I feel like I am staring at one of Poppa Sid's Gillette New (hope I have the razor right). He used that and a Fat Boy, and as the 70's were coming, he went to a three piece. I'd kill for his old razors. Dad didn't save them, dare I say he and my Uncle had switched to electrics.

I am one happy camper, and I thank all of you for taking this one razor, one soap, one brush, two AS person and turning him on his ear by showing me all of these great products. The only problem is what to choose tomorrow :)

    Gillette Tech ball end
    Feather (day 1)
    De Vergulde Hand Extra fris
    Vulfix travel
    Proraso AS

Another quick one, but much better than yesterday, I really like feathers in a Tech. Very smooth, but also efficient enough
