Just finished shaving using all my new Proraso products I just received and well, I think I heard angels begin to sing when I was done. That was the most comfortable and closest shave I have had thus far. I think I found my brand of choice, kinda hate to stop using all the EJ stuff I bought, but the results from Proraso cant lie. Here is a little breakdown of the that glorious shave, I dont care if you dont want to hear about, I to amazed not too.

    1. Warm shower using Nivea Pre-Shave Scrub to get a good clean scrub on my face.

    2. With my face still pretty wet from the shower, I immediately applied Proraso Pre-Shave Cream
-Might have overdone it with to much, almost passed out with the overpower smell, just joking, but it does have quit a strong fragrence, and a very intense cooling feeling, again maybe cuase I used to much.

    3. I soaked my brush and bowl in hot water along with a small towel while I was showering.

    4. With the pre-shave still on my face I applied the hot towel over it for about a min. Then wiped off the any reamaning pre-shave and then reapplied a much smaller amount.

    5. I let it sit on my face will building my lather with Proraso Ultra Sensitive Soap.
-Got a fairly good lather with this stuff, still have to work on that.

    6. I applied my lather on top of the preshave for about 30 sec., took a few seconds to put in a new blade, and then went too town.

    7. I completed my shave with a total of 5 passes ( 2 on the neck WTG and 3 on the face WTG and Across the Grain), each time reapply lather, the last pass I will admit I had to dip back into the soap and remake some lather, it was thinning out toward the end.

    8. Once I was done I rinsed with cold water, applied a very light coating of the pre-post shave cream, then a decent coat of Proraso after shave cream, (about the time I heard the angels).
-passed on using the alum block, think its been causing my after shave irritation, didn't need the Praraso Syptic Gel I purchased either. I bought this to maybe replace the alum block for those oops moments.

    Results:
With only 3 passes on the face and without going against the grain I was able to get extremely close, really didn't even need to go against. Only one or two little nicks that went away with the application of aftershave. As for the neck, two passes was enough, not to worried about close down there, more concentrated on not cutting myself, that seems to be were it all happens. Overall, just an amazing shave, cant wait till the next. Thanks for reading guys.

Sounds good! Though we all love hearing shaving experiences, you don't have to worry about us not wanting to hear it ;) I'm a firm believer in proraso products. I don't have too many though, mainly the soaps and pre/post cream, but those are a stable in my life right now.

Friday, January 20, 2012. Midnight Shave

    Razor: Fatip /w BRW handle
    Blade: Polsilver
    Soap: RazoRock King Louis
    Brush: Rudy Vey Silvertip
Post: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater
AS: Pinaud Sp. Reserve and Harris Milk

The King Louis soap is outstanding. It gives MWF a run for its money. The Fatip has been the biggest surprise in my rotation. You would think it would tear your face off, but it's so smooth. Tonight I had my first 2 pass shave on my neck ever (I always have to do 3). My face feels like butta'.

    Have a great weekend!

    Friday 20 January

    Arko Stick
    Omega Travel Boar, Face Lather
Gillette Slim (5), with Rapira Platinum Lux (D6)
Alcolado Glacial and Nivea Sensitive Balm

A quick shower and shave before flying home. I hope the high winds and large fire outside of Reno don't get my flight cancelled.

I'm in a hotel that actually does not have a stopper for the sink drain, man I hate that. This was a three pass shave that got me DFS results.
I'm going home. Hope everyone has a good day.

    Time to catch up...

    Thursday ~ another day closer

    Prep: Hot shower, soak brush
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK
Soap: TSD SOTQ B3, Cantaloupe + 3 drops M Bomb (1 drop on the brush for each pass - worked out great!)
Brush: Mohawk 3-338 with original knot
    Razor: Merkur Travel Razor
Blade: Voskhod, day 4, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Osage Rub, B&BW Noir, hand strop blade

    Shave Rating: 3 Blades

Still not digging the whole face lathering thing.

    Friday

    Prep: Hot shower
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK
CD: 25 Blues Masters, Vol. II
    Soap: TSD Interception
Brush: Ever Ready 250PB with original knot
Razor: '53 Gillette Ball End Tech
Blade: Voskhod, day 5, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH, Curve

    Shave Rating: 4 Blades

I've always said, and will continue to say, there is no such thing as a "face lathering" brush or a "bowl lathering" brush. However, what I've found working for me when it comes to face lathering is that badger is working better.

    Omega Wooden Handle

    Keri unscented moisturizer
Alt Innsbruck AS :love029: :love029: :smiley freezing: :smiley freezing:
    Polo Original EDT

I'm really enjoying this Gillette Menthol cream which I received in trade from Phil at BullGoose, because it lathers just as well or even BETTER than the Lebanese junk which I used to have. It also smells much nicer, and it's just as mentholated, and the skincare is pretty good. The Alt Innsbruck aftershave felt heavenly! ;) :D
