    Sunday 22 Jan

First let me appologize to Scott Wein, I said I was going to use the EJ89 Saturday and that didn't happen. Things just kind of spun out of control right from the begining. My wife sent our 3 year old daughter up to wake me up and say its snowing and coffee is ready. I had a cup and went out and shovelled us out and cleaned off the cars. It took awhile so I had to shower fast then head out to a kids birthday party. So no shave Saturday. During the drive to the party I was assigned an emergency job where I have to travel early Sunday. So Saturday night I packed the EJ89 up for travel and decided to use it on the road. I didn't want to rush the first shave with it, so its going with me.

    Palmolive Menthol SC, Italian
Berkley 46, face lather (haven't used this in awhile)
Gillette Milord, w/ Lord Platinum (D3 or D4- honestly I forgot)
TSD Iced SubZero splash, and Proraso ASB

This was a three pass with a little blade buffing on the jawline. It came out to a BBS! First one in awhile, Smooth and chilly. Super Pleasant. I'm heading out the door to St Louis this time, and will probably be able to meet up with some cousins while I am out there. This should be a good trip.
I hope everyone has a good day.

    razorock xxx
    omega badger
    gillette ss
    personna red
    cold water rinse
    razorock alum

I had time and a quiet house this morning so i decided to treat myself to a nice 3 pass shave today.
as always the omega and razorock face lathered to perfection
the personna red however, shocked me. the last time i used a red it was a fantastic shave, this time however.....not so much.
all in all a great shave today
I would give it 5 blades but the personna red just took off some points and a chunk of my upper lip.

Today I had to choose the last soap or cream of the week.

I wish this were a two week event, there are so many worthy contenders.

But I decided to end the week with my first menthol, Palmolive Italian Shave Cream. What a job of face lathering…I will do this more often, with all my soaps and creams.

I also put a fresh Gillette Dark Blue in Slanty for a little more octane over the Black and Slanty delivered!

    The Kit:

    EBC Preshave-the best
    Palmolive Italian-my first menthol
Gillette Dark Blue (1)-my first blade love
    Slanty Merkur 37 C-my brother
    Witch Hazel/TSD ISZ Milk-what a cooling combo
    Alcalado Glacial-now I’m freezing

To paraphrase Jeff (Stingray’s rock) this was an intergalactic, star wars powered Jerry Garcialicious, on top of the world looking down on creation shave!

    Happy Sunday

    Sunday
    No Prep
Arko Shave Stick/Adventure SC, Bowl lathered
    Omega 10029
    1938 Gillette Senator/New Perma-Sharp Super
Cold Water Rinse/Arko-Nem moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia

Friday too hectic and busy to shave...Was really looking forward to Saturday's Shave...Woke up in the middle of the night Friday with an intense stomach virus....Sick all day Saturday, stayed in bed...Woke up early Sunday morning feeling good again!! Before I knew it two cleaning ladies showed up to polish the house...I haven't shaved in 3 days but I needed to stay out of these ladies' way and they are using the bathroom to fill mop buckets scrubbing stuff. And they will be here til at least 5pm...

Well when they started doing the windows in the front room I knew I had 10 mins. So with no prep, and 3 days worth of wirey whiskers (my wife said at breakfast it looked like I hadn't shaved in a week), I'm expecting the worse...But I still grabbed a quick one pass plus a little jaw line buffing....Cold water rinse and I'm back in my room...I rub a little Arko Nem moisturizer on my face and whoa!! I've got very close to a perfect BBS with no irritation....The only imperfection I can feel is a little roughness under my chin, but I can't see a whisker...Diffinitely a step above DFS...

30 minutes later the girls grab a cup of coffee and I grab the razor and did a quick touch-up pass...Now I'm flat in the middle of BBS territory, and the chin is polished....Ended up with a GREAT shave, even in the face of adversity...And I'm feeling fantastic!!

Have a Great Day and a Great Shave Everybody!!

    Sunday 22 january

    Rolls Razor
    boar/badger brush
    DVH soap

    face lathered
    3-pass shave, DFS.

Our eldest kid was taking a shower wilst I was shaving, so during the last pass the mirror view wasn't great. I guess I'll have to find me some RainX... But otherwise it is nice to take a leisurely shave.

    Have a nice day!

Get a can (yes, I said "can") of shaving cream, smear it (the cream, not the can) all over your mirror, wipe it off, good to go. Really helps cut down on your mirrors fogging up.
